I had Martino Home Improvements replace my roof back in 2020, which the initial installation had a fair amount of issues ranging from improper tarping of the roof during the installation, which ended up with rain pouring into my house when it rained. Since the repair I have now had leaks and in multiple places along with improper venting, which has meant rusty nails and ice forming on nails, after spending 30k on the replacement they are now looking for another 1,450 to add more venting to fix their install. I am not impressed and wouldn't recommend them.

Martino home improvements were so helpful in fixing up my torn up siding after a bad storm. I loved their work and professionalism so much, I hired them to put a new roof on my house and I couldn’t be happier with their work!! They also had great communication and were able to come right away. Thanks again!

Not even a week rain was pouring in on my furnace I call them took them FOREVER to come out had to call again. They finally came out to do patch work around cage?then not really a full year into service I saw a leak in front of salon on panels. I called called called they kept saying they were coming?took them FOREVER likes months to come. Didn’t let me know they were there on my building at all, they did such an horrible job at patching my new roof. I have an connecting building roofers said cheap materials were used and which roof was I liking to get a new roof on. Three roofers said same thing not a GOOD JOB FOR A NEW ROOF. They took black tar brushed it heavily on seams with a lot of thick, very thick ridges just a sloppy job. I have complained and complained OWNER has not called or sent no one to take care of this mess. Yes I thought they would handle this better so I was trying to set up next door building roof I have literally called and called this company begging for roof work and services. I am done as a hard working woman I refuse to be making payments behind this work I advise people to go on your roof look at job take pictures ask questions I will be sending these pictures to the better business bureau this is not how business goes.

They did my roof and my son's roof. We are both happy with the work done. I like that they are willing to come out every 2 years and inspect their roof to make sure everything is holding up ok. So in addition to the new roof, we also got a warranty service.

They poured the concrete last year, August 2017 and in less than 2 months I.e. October 2017 the driveway cracked. By the way the concrete is 6” thick plus has 2” sub-base with steel mesh but still with in two months it cracked. I called them more than dozen times to come and fix it but they never came to fix it. I understand that they don’t give warranty but my point to them was even though you don’t give warranty but still they should fix it since it cracked with in 2 months of the work and cracked before even winter started. Their cold response is very disappointing and they never came to fix it even after so many calls I made to them and requested to fix it.

Everything went very well. I would definitely hire them again. You do have to be patient to get the job started due to weather conditions.

The sale was easy, the job started when I wanted it to and took about a month to complete (some of the delay was getting the city building inspectors approvals). The crew had the deck and driveway removed in less than one day and the area prepped with forms. The crew was professional, expeidient and cleaned up the area well. Throughout the month, I was in constant communication with Debbie, who was professional, direct and certainly someone I counted on. The only flaw was that my 6-foot iron gate across the driveway was dragging on the driveway. The gate had to have the hinges repositioned higher; Martino met me half way for the cost. The final product exceeded my expectations and I would recommend Martinos and I do plan to have my front entry and walks done next year.

First when the representative came out he explained everything and was very nice, found out later the company let him go. We had to call the company to numerous times to fine out what was going on. When the crew finally came out we were told there was suppose to be 5-6 guys and that our roof was going to be done in one day. It took two days to finish the roof. Well when the crew did show up it was two guys, a lady and a toddler and another child. They did not come to the door to introduce themselves, did not know who was walking around on our property. I had to go out and ask who they are and ask why they had children here. I asked them if the company knew that the children were there and one said yes, well I called and the company did not know nothing about children coming to a work site. Eventually the lady left with the children but showed up twice during the day. The crew complained about the location of the dumpster. When asked not to smoke on our property, one guy commented "Well I guess we should not have taken this job." When asked to explain what they are doing one guy said, They did not have to explain anything and did not take orders from us. They were not concerned about the landscape, some flowers were broken off signs were broken. There were no port a jons on the property and they had to use our woods, it was very hot. They broke in to our electric meter and hooked up their air compressor, instead of running an extension cord. They did not say a thing about our electric meter. Their crew was very rude. To top it off this company sent us a bill for the balance due, and there was postage due on the envelope. I would NOT recommend this company. we emailed them but there was no reply finally after about three weeks they decided to pay for the flowers. The pictures is to show how they work

Excellent! This is an awesome company. Martino himself came all the way up north to make sure that we were completely satisfied. He cares deeply about his reputation and quality of workmanship. His workers were very nice and did a great job cleaning up. The salesman was very knowledgeable. We would highly, highly recommend them to everyone. Thank you Martino Home Improvement!

We signed a contract early February with Martino's for 2 patios, stairs for the patios and sidewalk in front of our home all in stamped concrete. There was a delay because of weather, which is to be expected. On Tuesday, May 10 I received a phone call that they would be at our house in 20 minutes to rip up the concrete. I rushed home so I could get everything moved off the patios. It was lightly raining all day, and when they drove their Bobcat to get to the back yard, it tore our yard up with deep tire tracks and mud. They finished tearing out all the concrete on Wednesday and told us they wouldn't be back till Monday, which meant we could not use the front or back doors, only the garage. They came back that Monday and as I was leaving to pick up my child from school I asked the foreman, Sam, when they would be stamping it (we didn't know the process because we have never had concrete replaced before) and his response was that it wasn't stamped. He got out his copy of the P.O. and showed me the instructions, that there wasn't anything about stamped concrete in the notes. I went and got my copy and right in the corner it had the color and pattern stone we had picked out. We actually had the same P.O. Sam just did not read it entirely. He kept going on how it looked good like this but that's not what we wanted. The owner, Martino, contacted me immediately and said they were willing to redo it but didn't know when that would happen or he could take money off the price for this. We are in the middle of adopting our former 3 year old foster daughter and we have two dogs that are 15 years old who are trained on an Invisible Fence who thought for a week we were trying to drag them through it from the garage and we're having accidents. I didn't have time to redo this. As far as I'm concerned my time is precious and I do not like it being wasted. We decided to keep it and go with the lower price. Things got worse. They cut the main lines to our sprinkler system in the front and in the back yard (we already had our sprinkler system checked and turned on for the summer a few weeks prior by the sprinkler company we have been using for 4 years). When they removed our Air Conditioning unit they used a saw to cut the tube and all the freon leaked out. Then they left it in the middle of our back yard and we had to move it back. They also moved a large Boulder rock in our back yard (that can't be moved by people, they had to use a bobcat to move it) so they could get their bobcat to our patio and then never moved it back, so it's still sitting in the wrong place in our backyard. I told them they could send in companies they have worked with (because the last thing I wanted was to have to waste more of my time contacting and scheduling things and also having to be at home for them) but they told me I could use whatever companies I wanted. The sprinkler system cost almost $900 to repair and the Air Conditioning until was approximately $1000 to repair. When I submitted the invoices to Martino's I received a call from Martino complaining about the cost to repair things. The freon alone was over $100/gallon and our unit held 7 gallons (I learned a lot about freon from this experience). He told me he recently had freon replaced in his air conditioning unit and it wasn't that much and I told him I have no idea how much freon was and his exact words to me were: because they raped you. Who says that to someone, let alone a customer?!?! I was very offended. We sent in the final amount we agreed on and were done. And I have to say I'm not even impressed with it. I don't know if there was more they were supposed to do and didn't because this job was a wash for them. An example is when I put sunscreen on my kids and it gets on the patio it won't even come off. We're hoping when we power wash it that it will come off. But who would think a hose or rain wouldn't be able to get sunscreen off. Never had that issue with our old patio. Things don't look leveled. When they started this project I did everything I could to make things easier for them figuring this was going to be a difficult job. I had bottled water for them, one day I bought the crew pizza and Coke for lunch, told them they could use our bathroom. So while I'm trying to be nice to make their job easier, they were doing a crappy, half-assed job for my home.

We got a few estimates, and Dennis with Martino Home Improvement match another bid for our patio. We had to wait awhile through the summer, which I was glad it was after the hot weather. Dennis was very helpful and informative. It took only 2 days and all the workers were professional.

I got my estimate in March , just as the final snow melted away. Martino himself came out.
I had 2 driveways put in on the same day on the same street, so I think I got a bit of a deal since there was less travel time involved for the crew.
The crew was great, they seem to have been working together forever. I had to have a curb put in on this driveway to control the water ..and it worked out well. I have inspected the driveway during a pouring rain.
The city rental inspector was out to see the house and was  impressed. He wanted to know the name of the contractor so he could get a driveway done on his own house.
FYI:  concrete contractors rarely add more soil after the pour. You will need to regrade and/or add more soil so your lawn meets up with the driveway properly.

I got my estimate in March , just as the final snow melted away. Martino himself came out. The company goes by his first name. He said: usually he has a salesman go out to do estimates, but in March he still has the time.
Everything went well. This is not a high tech crew with laser levels ... most everything is done by eye, and yes the rain water moves down the driveway perfectly. I did need to have curbs put in to control the water. Again, this was all done by eye.
All my emails were answered promptly, and payment was not a hassle. There was a deposit required.
My advice ... start looking for estimates as soon as the snow clears.

Estimates for our roof replacement were anywhere from 7200 to 9800 among the 8 or so contractors we talked to.  Martino was toward the higher end of that range HOWEVER I wholeheartedly believe it was the best overall value.  Let me explain why.
1) Martino offered higher quality materials in their estimate - A 30 year Owens Corning shingle, a synthetic underlayment, double length ice block along edges and put in every valley of the house and smart vents. ALL the other contractors offered basic materials like lower grade shingles, 15 pound underlayment, etc.
2) When looking over the roof, the gentlemen performing the estimation asked about concern spots (we had a couple leaks that we wanted to address) and identified the fact we had special venting needs because of the low overhang of our roof edges. Martino was one of two companies to identify those issues (something which I independently confirmed before getting estimates).

The roofing crew showed up promptly in the morning and left practically at dark.  They worked very hard all day for two days (it was a crew of six or so).  They put down tarps all around the house and were very careful not to damage plants or the landscaping.  They also went over the perimeter of the house several times to check for debris, trash and nails.
Once the work was done, a gentleman from the crew walked around the house with me to discuss specifics about the roof, the work that was done, and the methods employed.  He was also eager to answer any questions I had.  He was patient, respectful, and knowledgeable about the work performed.  Several hours later, a supervisor showed up to perform his own inspection on the roof, going over it in detail.  He was also eager to answer any questions and discuss the work performed.
My only complaint, is a very minor one. The gentlemen performing the initial estimate took over an hour to complete measuring and discussing. I believe they were just trying to reassure the quality of the work (good materials, good warranty, etc).  They were pleasant to talk to, but it did seem to kind of drag on toward the end.
To summarize: You may get a slight sticker shock from the initial estimate, but compared to many other contractors it's a much higher value.  Martino offered higher quality materials and offers a significant warranty for the work they perform. They paid keen attention to details about what was needed to do the job right and to do the job well.

He came out in Spring and gave me the quote for the work.  He was very friendly.  It didn't get done until October.  I kept working with them because there was some highway work in the area.  They poured in October.  I called in February and told about the cracks and sent pictures and didn't get any response. We had a slab replaced the slab where puddling was taking place in October.  All other 7 slabs have hairline cracks in them that are going up all along the house.  He said they put the wire mesh down and they can't guarantee work with the Michigan Winters.  Then, he said he couldn't do anything until Spring.  It didn't even last 2 months.  I gave them an opportunity to come out and take care of it.  I called 2 weeks ago and he just said, 'they're hairline cracks.' And he was only going to replace 1.  There is only 1 slab that he did that doesn't have a crack.  He said he would come out in 2 weeks to replace the slab, but I feel all slabs should be repaired.  The brickwork, and porch were fine on quality; but the quality of his cement work was poor. These ratings are specific to the cement work he did.
Response from Lighthouse Exteriors
"We came out in the spring, Signed a contract in June, and installed in late Aug. Home owner call stating that there was some water standing by her back door, we inspected found that there was some water sitting by her back door. Next we came and ripped out the section and poured it back. Home owner called in February informed us that there were some cracks in her driveway. We informed here that there is NO WARRANTY ON CRACKS, we cannot control the ground from freezing and pushing the concrete up. When I came to look at her driveway, the slab that we replaced because of the standing water Spalled very bad and that is the slab that I am going to replace. We are sorry the homeowner feels all slabs should be repaired. If we didn’t have Michigan winters that cause cracks in concrete our lives would be much easier also. Our quality of cement work is at the highest level, it is too bad we cannot control frost in the ground."
