"We appreciate all reviews, good or bad. I'm very happy that you are satisfied with our service that evening. Thank you for the review. I would love to take a moment to ease your mind on the cost of the parts; we actually pay more for parts then what the average homeowner can get them for. I will explain, we have to pay our inventory person to keep track of inventory and order parts, we have a person who receives parts after being ordered, we have a person who keeps inventory on all vehicles so that part is there and available for you, the customer, when we show up to your home. Each one of those steps is an expense on our part, so you can see how the average cost would increase. And yes, we are guilty of making a profit on parts which ensures of it being available in the future."
The tech, Calvin, called around 8:30am to let me know that he would be at my home around 9am. I described the issues and he got to work looking for the problem. He inspected the unit in the attic. Nothing appeared to be an issue with he a/c unit. He decided to test the condenser unit. The condensation drain line had slipped out of place and was draining down the ceiling vent to the first level. He repaired the line and rerouted it out of the attic. He suggested that I buy mold/mildew spray for the wet drywall.
I asked about their boiler service. Calvin added a note on my receipt to have the the company call me in the fall for boiler cleaning and start-up service so I wouldn't have to remember.
I will ABSOLUTELY recommend AAC Services to my friends, family, or anyone in the Metro Detroit area. Thank you.
The technician did a great job and very knowledgeable . I would refer to someone else, but the cost for the repair was on the high end.
The receptionist (Melva...not sure about the spelling...sorry) was very nice and took care of my need for a service call quickly. Sul came out right on time and diagnosed the problem promptly. He worked efficiently and explained everything. Sul cleaned the flame sensor as well. Overall, he was making sure that everything related to cooling and heating was in good shape. He literally went above and beyond the call of duty. He let me know that we had interruptible service for A/C and asked me if I wish to have it removed to keep the unit running without the electric company disrupting the service. We were not aware of that so asked him to remove it. Sul also gave us a discount. He is knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. We were very happy with the service he provided for us.
They came and did the inspection, everything basically checked out OK, but they told me the coils needed cleaning of grass/cobwebs etc., and that there would be a charge for that (About $40? I don't recall.) I grumbled and paid it, but I would have thought that incidental work like that would be included in the fee- they are in there looking already, just blowing out coils is another $40- really? Almost any outdoor unit probably should have that cleaning done - should be included in the price.
But again, no tragedy -- instead of getting a really good deal, it was really just a pretty run-of-the-mill price...
Hence the kind of 'medium scores. They were perfectly professional and courteous, I just think there should not have been an additional charge.
One thing about the install, and the reason I did not give perfect quality, is the connection to the existing vent. I was researching and making sure the vent would be proper. Turns out the new heater had a larger diameter vent, and the tech was adapting from larger to smaller, which the internet said was a no-no. I asked him about it and he said "it should be fine". (Alarm bells) I asked to make sure it was to code and the connection did not adapt from bigger to smaller. He made a proper connection and charged a small fee for the extra fabrication. I don't know what the proper thing to do code-wise would be, but the tech was able to make me happy about the connection and I am perfectly happy with the job.
