I hired Pablo and his team at Elegant Cement to replace my garage floor and driveway, and redesign my home’s walkways. I also had him pour a slab for a new shed i was having delivered. Pablo worked with me to design my vision, offering flexibility in designing the walkways and adding features I wanted like a graded garage floor for drainage. He advised completing all projects simultaneously to reduce costs, as mobilizing crew and equipment is a major expense. His pricing was fair, and he honored a year-old estimate he gave me after I delayed. He suggested that doing the garage and driveway at the same time would be better as demoing the driveway would allow a loader to get into the garage and make things a lot easier. One thing that stood out was Pablo's offer to install piping under the concrete to redirect gutter drainage, leveraging his landscaping and hardscaping expertise—something other contractor estimates i got wouldn't do. Pablo’s team delivered quality work with professionalism. Everyone was nice, friendly and respectful when cleaning up. If i have to give a critique i would say i wish he would have put plastic up over my stuff on shelves in the garage before they cut the cement, so much dust i had to clean out afterward but more my responsibility then theirs. If you're looking for skilled cement work done for a fair price then Elegant cement is a great contractor to hire.

We had a walkway and a patio done back in 2021. Originally, George (presumed owner) did the quote and because it was July, he said the job would get done the following spring, which was fine. We ended up getting a call in the beginning of November saying they could do the job. We brought up the weather and were told it wasn’t an issue. The crew, led by Pablo who was the “real” owner, got to work and destroyed most of our things in the process. I attempted to talk to him but it was like talking to a wall. His crew even cut the cable line under the ground after it was pointed out to him. We had to pay to have the line fixed and then HIS CREW DID IT AGAIN! The patio looks ok, but after a few months, parts of it started to rust. We were told it’s “minerals making their way to the surface. They cleaned their equipment off in the grass and I had to dig up all the mess with concrete and sealant they spilled all over. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! They are crooks!

Elegant Stamped Concrete was referred by a neighbor. The job was quoted in November 2020 and completed August 2021. By February 2022 the driveway was pitted and cracked. As we have pets we do not salt or place any other chemical products on the property. The driveway continues to pit. Pablo has been contacted several times since February and throughout this spring and summer and his response is always the same, "I will stop by to take a look." We have never seen him. He was friendly during the project and very friendly to collect his fee, but his customer service/follow up skills are mediocre at best. We will NEVER recommend him. DO NOT HIRE!

It has been 2 years now and our driveway is pitting and cracked. We have not used salt or any products on the driveway. I have contacted the owner Pablo and he has promised to come and view and has NEVER shown up! Now he will not respond to any calls or texts and I have been reaching out to him since March! We had originally referred 2 friends who also had them complete their driveways with a total of all 3 of us $100k in work and they are also having issues with pitting and now they can’t return calls or follow up! DO NOT HIRE!!! Find another company.... Pablo is prompt in wanting to collect the money but not offering any quality with his work.

We experienced a number of issues with Elegant Stamped Concrete. George was the one we worked with on the quote and the project setup, and we learned later he was in the process of selling the business to Pablo his crew leader. The project was to tear out the old driveway and walkway and pour a new one. Several quality and communication problems are the reasons for the poor review here. 1/ They were several months late. Plan was to complete in July or August. The crew did not arrive until mid October which meant curing of the concrete would take much longer and pose spalling (chipping concerns). 2/ Pablo's crew raised the driveway up by 6" which was neither discussed nor called out in the quote. This necessitated several yards of top soil and sod to be purchased and laid down to provide a transition from the driveway to the lawn. 3/ Pablo also raised the walkway leading to the front porch. In the process, he created a "half-step" on the first porch step. This is a violation of building code and when I pointed this out and tried to get him to change it he was rude and unprofessional. 4/ Pablo's crew did not seal the driveway afterward as written down on the contract. This site will not let me post pictures but if I could, the sealing is clearly called out. It took 4 more weeks and threat of lawsuit. Finally when they came out it was mid November, they applied it when it was 34 degrees outside (that night it then dipped down to 25 deg) so as a result the seal did not bond properly. It even says on the sealant can "do not apply below 50 deg". Now, whenever it rains the driveway and walkway have large black lines where some of the sealant bonded and others areas didn't. It looks like a zebra. 5/ We experienced spalling (chipping) where patches of the concrete surface chipped away. It took several week but finally Pablo came out to the house. Unfortunately he said the problem was not due to his team's work and that was that. Problems arise often times during a construction project --- I get that. With good communication and a willingness to "put it right" it can all work out fine in the in the end. But in this case, by the time the project was complete the previous owner George had moved on and Pablo was running the operation, and we received neither good communication nor a willingness to 'put it right'.

It went excellently. This is the second time George’s crew has done work for us. They have very reasonable prices. The work is excellent. They answer and return phone calls. They work quickly and work on time and as promised (weather permitting). Very polite and helpful, I do recommend them to family and friends. If or when i need anything else done, they will be the folks I call.

Quick, professional, Slight delay returning calls on occasion as proprietor was sick. Should have designated to his assistant.

Arrived on time to the job site, and worked extremely quickly and professionally , was truly impressed by how well the crew worked together. Would most definitely hire again for any future work. It has been about a year and the Patio still looks great as if it was just done yesterday.

His crew was excellent. They came when they said they would, and did the work in a timely manner. They cleaned up after themselves, and the job is beautiful. I'd recommend them to anybody.

We actually had issues with the supplier. They came out late in the day to try and do the job in one day and they were rushing it. We got a lot of cracks and chipping after the work and when we called them because the job was supposed to be warrantied, they said it wasn't warrantied for that sort of thing, that it was normal. They didn't come out even to seal the cracks or anything. I think the price was good or we wouldn't have hired them. It wasn't good quality work. They weren't responsive. It took my husband months to even reach anybody about coming over and they didn't want to come over.

It was very good.   I worked with George.  The crew was exceptional.  Their attention to detail was very good.  The price was reasonable.  They were here on time everyday.  I plan on using them again soon.

Hired Elegant Stamped concrete to pour new driveway for me because I know the owner George from home shows that we do together as I own a kitchen company. Went with George because he talked a great game about his crew and his workmanship.

This will be the LAST time I ever hire a company where I know the owner personally as I have been screwed yet again.

I think the biggest mistake I made was letting George talk me into pouring the new driveway in mid November of 2013. The weather was crappy for days before and after the job. Everything seemed to go well after they poured the driveway and I avoided parking on it for 30 days even though George said that 14 days was enough.

Driveway looked good until February hit. That's when I started to notice a huge wet spot on the right side of the driveway. I called George and he said it's no big deal it just needs time to cure. So I waited till April to see what happens. Well April comes and it's still there. So I call George to ask him to come out and look at it. He says he is too busy and that it will go away when the warm weather gets here.

Waited till May and the spot is still there. I call George again to complain and he decides to call me every name in the book. Saying that the reason the concrete is wet is because the sides of the drive weren't filled in with new top soil and grass?? The reason it wasn't filled in is because he did the job in November and when spring hit I thought the concrete might have to come up again and be poured the right way.

Either way that was just a lame excuse from George to try and put the blame on me. His next excuse was that I parked on the driveway in the winter and that the salt and snow did it even though I had waited double the amount of time that he said to wait. Then I was told that I spilled something on the driveway. Now keep in mind that George was suppose to be a friend of mine.

So after he called me every name in the book and then called me cheap and lazy for not filling in the sides of the driveway he finally tells me he will find a way to make it right. Well that day never came. For the next 6 months all I got was the run around from George. He was impossible to get ahold of and when I did get him on the phone he had 50 other reasons as to why he can't get to my house and this is even after I offered to pay half off the cost to replace the driveway again.

Then while I waiting those 6 months another issue came up  at the sidewalk. Yet another big wet spot that was getting bigger by the day. George tells me it's not his fault and that's it is something coming up from underneath the driveway even though we never had a problem before. He also tells me that both issues are just cosmetic and that I shouldn't worry about it.

You look at the pictures I provided and tell me if you would like to look at this mess of a driveway after you spent 8000.00???

I am not the only one who has a complaint about Elegant Stamped Concrete and the complaints are all the same. George does the job, collects the money and then won't do anything to correct any issues because he has been paid already. So if you want to roll the dice and hope that your concrete work turns out well then call George. But be prepared to get yelled at and given the run around when something does go wrong.

The meetings to hire this company went great, however we were given a date and he called us on a Friday a couple of weeks before telling us they would be there the following day. We asked to hold off as there was a lot going on but he said we couldn't as the crew was already on their way. The work crew was ok except for the fact they kept dumping trash cement in the field behind our house even after we told them not to. It is illegal to do that but they didn't seem to care. George the owner was supposed to come by when they were finished to be sure the job was up to our standard. He never did show up and we had to mail him the check for the balance. Within a couple of days the patio stated fading and cracking. It was done in June and not even 6 months later it looks terrible. It had cracks everywhere and is sinking and fading, it's embarrassing to have people see it. This company will not do anything about it except say it's normal, which I know it's not since I have seen other people stamped concrete and it does not look like this. These guys do not stand behind their work. It is impossible to get in touch with this guy once the work is done. I would not recommend them just on that point, I see many others have had the same problem. I wish I would have known before I hired them, as now this patio will probably need to be replaced in a few years.

I was pleased with the overall service but I did have to follow up with them to clean up the mess they made in the street. I wish they would just done that automatically. The patio looks beautiful.

I had $8900.00 worth of cement work done by Elegant Stamped Concrete. After the work was completed, George Oprita asked if he could send potential customers to our house at [Removed] to look at his work. We were told later by George that everyone he had sent over signed up with his company.  This spring I called and told George not to send any potential customers to see his work as we had large amounts of scaling and numerous stone and cement pops. George assured me he would correct the problem.  I have had phone calls with George and sent letters and am still waiting to have the problem corrected.  The letters were ignored and his promise to rectify the shoddy cement mixture has gone by the wayside.  I invite you to drive by the address above and judge for yourself.  I see another reviewer had the same problem trying to get Elegant Stamped Concrete to stand by their work.  They also were unsuccessful in getting their cement repaired.

In July, 2012, Elegant performed the contracted work, and all was fine. The next Feb., my husband was hand shoveling the driveway (we have never used a plow), and the driveway began coming apart in chips. The driveway was being shoveled away with the snow. We called George immediately, and he said he would look at it in the Spring. In April, we began calling him. After multiple calls, he finally agreed to come out. He tried to tell us it was because of salt, because, after all, we are the first driveway in a court off of a main road. Really?? Is it not a driveway?? Are we not supposed to drive on it? After several more months of back and forth calling, he agreed to come and re-pour the driveway. In the meantime, we had 2 cement companies come out for opinions, and they agreed it was the result of a bad batch that should not have been poured. By now, the entire driveway was chipping away and the aggregate borders were also chipping. He refused to redo the aggregate. The driveway was redone in Sept., 2013. It still looks good. The aggregate continues to chip away (just the driveway borders; the sidewalk is fine, thank goodness!). We will need to have another company come out to redo the aggregate or just live with it. It looks pretty bad for the money paid. It was so difficult to get George to agree to redo the driveway, we just cut our losses. We don't blame him for the bad cement pour, but his customer service is appalling. We invested a lot of money in this project and expected a quality job. Apparently, according to his workers, ours is the first driveway where this has happened. You would think a reputable businessman would want all customers to have a quality product and be satisfied. Many of our friends visit and want to know who did the poor job on our driveway. We would definitely not hire him again.

Elegant Stamped Concrete Inc were focused, professional. I could go by and look at them, they were working together as a team. When I had additional work done in my yard, I had a fence put up, they were there night and day. The team was excellent. During the sale, there are a lot of little things they said they will do, they never did. There are some holes in my brick that they said they will do again and they didn't. They talked about relocating, I had some gutters go down into the ground and pop up, they said they have to move the pop ups and they didn't. They told me if there were any sprinkler lines, they would bring them up and put them over or move them out of the way or anything, but they just hacked the crap out my sprinklers and I had to have it completely redone. I don't recall having any issues regarding cleanup or anything, they a wonderful job there.

George was excellent to work with and was always on time. He made several visits to our house to consult on the design of the patio and was very patient with our requests and design changes. George always answered his phone or called back promptly. His workers were very industrious and professional while at our home. They did a wonderful job on the patio and we have had numerous compliments on the end result. I would definitively recommend George and this company to others looking to install a new patio or other concrete.

George was very professional and a pleasure to work with during the design and installation. The completed  driveway  with the 2 feet of stamped concrete up both sides was beautiful. People would stop their cars on the street and ask who did the work.
The problems began in March 2013. The surface of the drive began to peel off. It started with small pits then grew to blotches. Even though the contract stated that Elegant was not responsible for salt damage and or pitting he said he would fix the problem. The cost would be shared by Elegant and me.

George is a friendly, personable, and patient salesperson who was a pleasure to work with up until he was paid.  Then things changed as I will explain later on in this review.    The patio is absolutely beautiful and the shed slab was well done as I explained that the area it would be put in tends to flood.  The work crew was on time, professional, and courteous.  This is a good company to do business with.   However, there were some things that caused me to bring down my rating.  One cause of concern is that Elegant Stamped Concrete did not  follow through on other service commitments they made. For example, George promised that the work crew would pull some nails out of the brick siding and seal the holes upon installation.  This was never done and I paid a separate contractor to do it.   During the installation, the leader of the work crew stated he would need to move an underground drain to accommodate the installation.   This was never done. I have an underground sprinkler system in my backyard and I knew that it would require service/repair after the patio installation.  Upon discovering the multiple leaks in my sprinkler system, I called George to obtain his view on the situation.   This is when George's demeanor changed.  He was not rude or mean.  He just made it clear that he had no interesting in talking and wanted off the phone.   This happened on two occasions until I decided to not contact him anymore because he was not going to be of much assistance.  Because I live in Warren, a 2 foot rat wall is required in new concrete.   I asked George if the work crew would cut through sprinkler lines if they were under the old concrete.  He said they would lift the line out instead of cut through it.  This was not true.  The work crew completely destroyed the line, left it buried and told me nothing about it.  It will cost about $300 to get my sprinkler system reconfigured and repaired.  One of the other items I tried to talk to George about was the 2 garden walls installed.  When it rains both of them fill up like a swimming pool.   When I tried to discuss this with George just to obtain his knowledgeable expertise in the matter, he again made it clear he did not want to waste time with me.  That conduct was disappointing because 1) I had already lined this company up to replace all concrete in my front yard and 2) my trust and respect for this company diminished because of the unwillingness to assist (just with knowledge) with the post-installation issues.   George stated he runs into these issues all of the time but I think it would be beneficial for George to keep in mind that his customers are most likely installing new concrete for the first and last time and some courteous post-installation discussion would go a long way for his company's reputation.  In summary, I would have no problem hiring this company again, but I am definitely aware of their less attractive business habits.
