VETTESE BASEMENT WATERPROOFING

Called several waterproofers and wasn't happy with their prices. Called this company and he gave me 2 options for my basement issues. an inside method which my wife and i didn't want and gave us another price for the outside method of waterproofing. he was very thourough, knowledgable and told us of suggestions if we didn't hire him. I had to call him and ask several questions to clear up some things. I called again to get his license number since he never provided one. ** i dont remember when i had him come out but it was sometime in early March of 2013. When i called to check on his license he said he uses his partners license. he said his partner would be on the job. RED FLAG: i looked up his partners license and itsa PLUMBERS license which was NOT active and there was a HOLD on it pending action. That right there made my decision of not to hire this company. Also, a plumbers license is not an approved license to go waterproofing. U need a builders license with a M and A for waterproofing. U need a license to do waterproofing!!! Plumbers license is NOT for waterproofing!! Don't believe me look it up on the State of Michigans licensing site...

Water had been seeping into my basement for weeks despite having very dry weather for the past couple of months. Darrel Vettese actually arrived for the estimate earlier than scheduled! He suspected that the drain pipes entering from the outside drain tiles were clogged, and he proposed a two-step solution. Step one was to install a back drain against the side of the basement where the water was seeping inside in order to snake backward from the main basement drain. If that did not resolve the problem, he wrote up a second step, which would have been to install a new drain tile system on the inside of the basement against the one wall. Luckily, as Darrel had suspected, the drain pipe was heavily clogged with tree roots. He and his workers worked for a couple of hours to unclog the drain pipe after installing the new access drain. He could have given up and proceeded to step two, which would have cost me 3x as much, but he did not. Then a few days afterward, I called Darrel suspecting that water was still seeping into the same area of the basement. He returned my call immediately and was at my house 15 minutes later. It turned out that it just appeared to be damp from glue residue underneath carpeting that I had peeled back around the area. I have monitored the area after recent heavy rains, and not a drop of water is coming into the basement. Other drain companies and plumbers suggested either that back-snaking from the main basement drain could not be done or that the basement floor would have to be dug up from the main drain to the new drain in order for this to be done. Darrel Vettese's honesty and perseverance to keep my costs down were much appreciated!

They did no work.

I am very satisfied with the work they did. They came right on time to do the work. He showed me what he was doing and explained the work. The price was just right and a lot cheaper than the time I had the other wall done by another company.

We were able to get an estimate which was by far the best estimate we received but when we wanted to hire them to do the job, they didn't return our phone message to set up the appointment. Every time we called there we got an answering machine. Three days later, we decided to hire someone else who did follow up with us on their own initiative.

Mr. Vettese came out right away to give an estimate. He was there early on the day the work was scheduled to be done. Even though he had to dig very deep holes near landscaping, he returned everything to its original state, with no evidence of anything being disturbed.

I've been dealing with Darryl for 20 years and have had him do more than 30 jobs and refer him often. Honest, fair, and never a come back. He knows what he is doing.

THEY HAD TO DIG UP UNDER OUR DECK TO GET TO THE HOLE. THE WORK THAT THEY DID WAS REALLY GOOD. THEY TREATED US WITH RESPECT. THEY WERE DONE IN ONE DAY.
