He told me when he was in the Berkley area and then worked around his and my schedule to coordinate a good time for my air duct cleaning job.
Upon their punctual arrival, they explained exactly what they would be doing; what the coupon covered; and if there could be any other charges. They were very clear about all expenses. There was nothing hidden. Both workers wore booties over their shoes to prevent dirt from being brought into the house. We walked the house together counting the vents. Larger ones counted as 2. This is a 1950 built bungalow and there are no cold air returns. The coupon called for the cleaning of 14 vents. Any extra would be a charge of $15/vent. They explained the 2 different ways of cleaning the vents, one of which would be to unscrew each from the wall. If I chose that, then afterward, a bit of painting would be needed to cover up the area which was painted in the first place. This posed no problem as each room is slated to be painted anyway. After each vent and duct was cleaned, they went to the basement to spray a sanitizer through the ductwork to kill any left over bacteria, etc. At that time I turned on the air conditioner in order to spread the sanitizer throughout.
Excellent work, professionalism, honesty, and time consumption.
A team of 3 came out to do the clean up, focused on the wood flooring first. They pulled up the rugs and took them for cleaning.
In the basement, they cleaned the water first. Several times, I came downstairs to ask if I needed to move anything. I had bookshelves full of items and other furniture in the room, pushed against the wall. Each time, I was told no.
Next thing I knew, I heard loud sounds coming from the basement. They were tearing out the tile and cealing. I understand it was what needed to be done, I just would have liked a warning. I would have liked to have moved items out of the way, rather than getting dust/debris on them.
They were very efficient at their job and were done within 12 hours. They left multiple fans and humidifiers running at our house and came back the next couple days to check the progress of the drying process, taking fans with them as the status improved.
Following the clean up, I received a bill from Services Masters in the amount of my deductabile. I had already paid that to State Farm and contacted State Farm immediately upon receiving this bill. The billing was supposed to have been handled purely between State Farm and Service Masters. I'm glad I caught this error and didn't pay Service Master as well. ( Amount listed above was what was paid by State Farm).
