MICHIGAN TREE & STUMP

We had “an excessive number of big pine branches” my husband had hauled out to the road, too big for Canton to pick up. We called Tony, and he came out the next evening to give us a bid, then sent the guys out this morning to chip all the branches. Our neighbor’s tree service was going to charge us $400. Tony charged us $250. Our neighbor decided to use them, also. Tony’s bid was $75. Her service was going to charge $200. We are both thrilled to have the job taken care of and done for a reasonable price. We have used them before for topping trees, cutting down a couple of big pines and grinding stumps. They do excellent work.

They did a really good job for us. They were so pleased that they were getting work that time of year. They were the kindest guys, and I sensed that we could trust them. They said if we had an ice storm, that our birch tree branches would bend right down to the ground and break. They topped that tree off so that wouldn't happen. They also did that for a big, old, arborvitae, and grinding out the stump. We were very satisfied. I would call them again.

Tony from Michigan Tree and Stump was very easy to contact. Had two large trees removed and stumps ground out. One tree was very close to the house, always shading roof causing moss to grow on it. It was a big Boxelder, they took great care to not hit house while cutting, was careful of the landscaping, even tho I knew there was possibility of some damage. But none was done. Other tree was a maple out away from house. They did a great job of cleaning up when done taking trees down I do highly recommend Michigan Tree and Stump.

They were excellent! Most importantly, they took the plant material away and cleaned up the area really well. I also had additional plant material for which they gave me great price.

They did a good job. They were efficient as well. They had to work around a lot of underground wires, and didn't damage anything.

Well, I think I made Tony a bit nervous. He had initially planned on doing the work on a day I would not be home. He told me to leave a check for payment taped to the front door so that he would have it upon completion of the job. I refused to do that. I explained to him that I have never worked with his company. Not knowing what I might come home to - believe me I've had some lousy contractors in the past - I told him I would send him a check after the job was completed to my satisfaction (ie, no broken windows). Today, before sending out his crew, he called me to explain exactly what I should expect. He was just a bit curt with me, but, to give him the benefit of the doubt, I think my refusal to leave a check on the door and my comment and quot;how do I know I won't come home to a broken window?and quot; made him leery of my willingness to pay him. And I believe the call was made out of his concern that I may have had unrealistic expectations. On the other hand, he may have just wanted clarification. But other than that he was exceedingly responsive and cordial. After I first called his company he returned my call promptly. We had several phone conversations and with every one he called exactly when he had promised to. And with every call I made to him he answered. No voice messages were necessary. Really, outstanding in that respect. Additionally, the location of the stump was exceedingly close to my house and windows, a generator, and gas line. I had asked him to be sure to place a tarp over my generator so that saw dust would not enter the housing (as it did when that tree was initially cut down). He agreed to do that without complaint (unlike the response from another individual from another company who had an A rating here on Angie's list and who was not only unwilling to protect my generator but berated the contractor who had done the job cutting down my tree-very unprofessional). Tony's crew came out today exactly on time-to the minute. They did a good job. They were careful, polite, professional. All in all, I am very pleased with the experience I had with Michigan Tree and Stump Removal and hope to do business with them in the future.

After calling 3 tree removal companies in the local area, Tony at Michigan Tree and Stump not only offered me the best price, he also seemed to be the most courteous and professional - promptly returning any phone call inquiries I made and asking me questions about the proximity of the tree to my irrigation valves (something none of the other contractors did). Tony worked with me to determine the best time to go about the removal so as to minimize damage to my lawn. When the services were performed, I had some anxiety about the closeness of the tree to my house, but Tony and his team did an amazing job of making sure there was no damage due to falling limbs. He returned the following day to complete the stump removal, and did an amazing job minimizing the impact to my newly planted sod. All in all, a very pleasant and professional experience, and I would highly recommend Tony and Michigan Tree and Stump to anyone looking for tree removal (or clean-up) services.

Excellent work removing several hard to get to stumps that grew through a chain linked fence and above concrete next to my garage. Others said no to the job, but Tony was great and did everything needed to grind these stumps and break out concrete and cutting the fences needed to get the job done!!
