Fixed an old cuckoo clock

Cliff was so helpful and professional. He came to the house, diagnosed the problem and took care of it for us.

He was so helpful and didn't act like he just wanted us in and out of there. He diagnosed the problem, adjusted one part and sold us a more efficient clock key. We were able to walk out with a working clock and it's been ticking away ever since. Would highly recommend.

The clock was a gift many years ago and is as cherished as it is beautiful. It is one of the largest grandfather clocks and has a chime that warms our hearts. I say this, to indicate how much it was missed when it no longer could chime. So, I truly didn't think there would be anyone on Angie's List that would repair such a clock, but hoped there would be.
When I saw Mr. Hammond's information listed and the great reviews, I was happy beyond belief. I could hardly wait to contact him. I called him and after he asked a few questions, it was clear that he had extensive experience in clock repair. He also sounded like an easy to work with kind of person.
He arrived on time and came prepared to overall the clock; removing, cleaning, lubricating and tweaking parts. He talked to me as he worked which I really appreciated. He knew so much about the history of this clock and I learned so much information that was very interesting. He is a nice friendly person that really knows a lot about clocks and for all he did, his rates were reasonable.
Would I recommend him for anyone looking for clock repair? Absolutely!

Cliff arrived on time and brought all the equipment needed to hang the clock.  He did a great job and was very neat.  He was courteous and well dressed.  Most of all Cliff knew all about antique clocks!  Cliff is a great resource and and a gentleman.

I had accidentally broken the suspension spring and post on our grandfather clock.  I bought some replacement parts online and watched some YouTube videos in an attempt to repair it myself.  I had the general idea down but just couldn't get the clock to run.  It was obvious that it needed the professional's touch to get it working.  I called Cliff at It's About Time based on existing reviews and proximity.  Cliff answered the first time I called and I explained how the clock had been broken and what I had done to attempt to repair it.  We set up a house call for a week later and Cliff explained that it would be $95 for the in home service, but could potentially be more if he had to take it into his shop for more extensive work.  Cliff showed up on time for the appointment and was very professional.  I showed him the clock, explained the issue, and he got right to work.  He made some adjustments, oiled the clock, and fine tuned the hands so that the clock chimes when the hands are at the precise hour, 15, 30 and 45 minute positions.  It was obvious that he has a great deal of knowledge and experience with clocks and was quickly able to diagnose and correct the problems.  He was able to make all the necessary repairs in the single visit for the $95 he quoted on the phone.  The clock has been running great ever since.

Our cuckoo,clock has not worked for many years. We took it to a clock repair shop on Rochester Road in Troy near Nino's. They kept it for 3 months, said they had to special order the workings from Germany and could not repair it themselves. After the first month, They would not return my calls and I became very worried after 3 months, so one day I drove by and found a big sign on the door For Lease and the shop pretty much emptied out and my cuckoo clock sitting on the counter. I sort of panicked and called them right away and left them a message that I wanted to pick up the clock ASAP. Fortunately, they returned my call and I was able to retrieve my clock - with all pieces accounted for. They did not charge me anything. WHEW!

A friend suggested I try Cliff at It's About Time in Clarkston. I called him and he immediately impressed me as VERY knowledgeable about clocks, especially my cuckoo clock. I brought the clock to him on 11/12/2014. He took one look at it and knew exactly what he needed to do to get it up and running again.

We were amazed when Cliff called on 11/23/2014 to tell me the clock was fixed and ready for pickup. My husband and I picked the clock up on 11/25/2104 and very grateful for his expertise.

We are so very pleased to have this very knowledgeable clock repair and are so happy to have our beloved cuckoo clock back on our wall ticking away and cuckooing and playing the lovely tunes!!

I contacted Cliff and explained that my clock had stopped working several years ago. He quoted the prices for the initial cleaning and lubricating as well as the price for a more extensive repair if necessary. He came to the house, completed the cleaning, lubricating and resetting of the clock in a very cordial and professional manner. I will use him for more frequent servicing of my clock in the future.

Cliff talked to me on the phone and walked me through several steps to try to fix my grandfather clock.  It was determined that Cliff would need to make a house call.  We set up an appointment, Cliff showed up on time and fixed my grandfather clock.  It took about 1 to 1 1/2 hours and now works perfectly.  Well worth the cost!  Cliff was professional and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him!

Within two weeks the clock was ready and I was amazed at how wonderful it looked.  He cleaned the exterior as well as repaired the workings.  It keeps accurate time and the chimes ring on the quarter hour as they should.  He charged me $110 but could have charged the $200 maximum and I wouldn't have known the difference.
He also told me how to set a Landmark schoolhouse clock that I've owned for over 40 years so that it would chime accurately.  The clock would chime but not the correct number for the hour.  I would have taken it to him and he could have charged me for a repair.
Wonderful experience.

He arrived on time and  proceeded to  do his work.  He also helped me move items out of the way due to my illness which was necessary to do his job.

They are very good in services. They deal with all types of clocks including older clocks. They are very professional and knowledgeable.

Our family clock was over wound and needed a major overaul. This company did a great job and completed the job in a timely fashion! It wasn't the cheapest, but in this situation I wanted it done right! I highly reccomend this company!

He was awesome! This clock hadn't worked in more than 10 years and other repair places didn't want to touch it partly because it was purchased in Germany. He did a great job for a great price. It is lovely to have our cuckoo back with us! He is now our clock repair person for all time!
