Cleaned and inspected fireplace and chimney

Went terrific as always. Ray was spot on time and explained everything he did to keep my fireplace healthy on the inside and the outside. His recommendation to get a cast iron fireback to protect the firebrick and make its life longer has worked well. I bought a vertical "grate wall of fire" to put in front of it, and the burning wood against the metal plate reflects for heat into the room. Ray and Marie run a good operation.

Ray is very knowledgable and no nonsense, quite old school. we are very glad we called High Hat. He is professional and offered advice that was extremely helpful. We bought a house that had four fireplaces, two natural and two that had been converted to gas; we were accustomed to wood burning from our old house but knew little about the new fireplaces and wanted to know what had to be done to be safe. He told us what needed to be done for each, depending on how we planned to use them, spending a couple of hours educating as well as cleaning. We would definitely recommend him to friends.

Ray is awesome, the kind of guy you wished lived next door, very genuine, sincere, kind and trustworthy.   He provided the service and threw in little pieces of advice and insight along the way, like how airflow works, how to best keep our fireplace windows clean and how to manage natural occurring cracks of the walls.   Very glad to have met him!

Ray sweeps our chimney every year.  He is great.  If repair work needs to be done, he tells me how to do it myself to save money.  He lets me know what tools I'll need and where to get the products.  I really appreciate him!

Showed up on time. Always neat. I've used some of the others around an Ray is the only one that I would hire. He's done repairs on my chimney at a much better price than everyone else. There is no BS.
