I am very very thankful for the caring and competent service Hanolon electric provided. 
After hefinished the job I had originally called him to help with, which was around 5 PM
because they worked with my schedule to make the call as late in the day as possible,
I asked if he would take a second to check out a questionable wall socket on my second floor. 
To make a very long & scary story short, he found it to be a fire safety issue!
He then worked for 2 ½ hours in my hot upstairs and attic to fix the wiring and
make it safe.  I felt so bad for him!  It was awfully hot.  I had no idea the risk my family was in. 
But now safe, It was all about him taking the extra moment, listening to my concern, late in the day,
and  not to be dramatic, but honestly possibly saving my family from a house fire (at the head of my bed).

I was looking for a reliable, small, local electric repair service. I took a chance with Hanlin, based on Angie's List. My first impression was from Linda (the "Lin" half), who took my call and helped me understand what might be needed, and arranged an appropriate time to do the work, given that it was outside work and the weather, when I called, was very cold. ... Hank came out right on time. He was friendly, professional and efficient. It took about an hour for him to diagnose and fix a very complicated and unsafe wiring arrangement that had been created by a former owner. Now all the switches and outlets work, and there are no more "mystery boxes" or "mystery wires." The price was very reasonable. Linda called a couple of days later to follow up on my level of satisfaction. I'm very happy with the experience and would recommend Hanlin without reservation.

It went quite well they were in and out in 2 1/2 hours and were quite nice.

Came over the same day I called, even though it was a Saturday. Quickly discovered where the fault was and corrected problem. Courteous and friendly. Could not ask for a better service provider.

Have used Hanlin Electric many times over the years for various projects such as simple plug installations, repairs, circuit additions, and, most recently, recessed lighting. The owner, Hank, is punctual, professional, honest, and takes great pride in his work. You'll get a quality job at a reasonable price. Calls are returned promptly and handled in a courteous, pleasant manner. I have never hesitated to recommend this company to others who need electrical work done.

Two months after having a 100 AMP 30 Circuit panel and whole house surge protector installed by another contractor (who was highly rated on Angie's list), we began to experience periodic electrical outages in our home. We were puzzled because one outlet in a room might be without power but another was unaffected. Sometimes the outage lasted a few minutes and then power returned; sometimes several short outages occurred within an hour; and other times the outage might last several hours before power would return and stay on for a couple of days.
Because the city of Livonia inspectors (2 of them) during their inspections of the previous work had criticized the work of the contractor as sloppy (and even found loose screws in the circuit panel) I did not think it prudent to contact him and instead called Hanlin Electric.
Throughout the entire process all Hanlin personnel were absolutely great. They talked with me at length on the phone gathering information about the problem. When we lost power late one evening I left a voice message and was amazed that they returned my call that same evening. I was asked to go around the house and make a written list of all fixtures, appliances, and outlets to determine what was and what was not working.
Even though Hanlin was already booked with another job the following day they promised to come out the next evening. When the electrician arrived the following evening, he decided to first check the electrical connections into the house. He was surprised to see that the former contractor had not replaced the electrical meter box since it was over 40 years old. He was more amazed that the old gasket (meant to keep water out) had been reused (not replaced). Upon opening the meter he immediately noted that one of the brackets used to hold the incoming electrical line in place was broken and a large space allowed the electric wire to move within the box. This was causing us to lose power to one side of the circuit box. He indicated this was a potentially dangerous situation and the meter box needed to be replaced. He was able to make a temporary repair to restore full power to our house and we scheduled a second appointment for him to return and install a new box. We have experienced no problems since.
We are very happy with the service received and are convinced that the job was finally done right. I would highly recommend Hanlin Electric and will use them again when we have electrical work to be done.

We called them out, they came that week, gave us an estimate. He started and finished the days he said he would. He pulled wires, put in whole new outlets and switches, gave recommendations (which were perfect) and did throrough testing of everything. He left everythign spotless, totally cleaned up. The estimate was right on the mark. I have recommended him to our neighbors.

Hank presented himself in an exceptionally professional manner. He took great care in assessing my job. My impression was that he approaches his work very carefully and methodically. I chose another contractor based on price and specific expertise that I felt he was better prepared to provide, but I would still consider Hanlin Electrical for future work without reservation.
