Ehlers Heating & Air Conditioning

Let me start by saying the service and timeliness was great by the technician that came out to assist. With the being said, I am leaving a 1 star review due to the pricing and lack of transparency when asking about the pricing. We were charged $402 for a capacitor replacement in our outdoor AC unit and the repair was complete without a quote given beforehand. I placed a call to the vendor, and when asked for a breakdown on how we got to the $402 invoice; I was told overhead for the warehouse and facilities, labor, and the $99 service fee. I was told they were unable to give me a breakdown of the cost/hour. The installation of the part took ten minutes. Looking up the cost of the capacitor, it was probably around $20. This sticks me with around $300 in labor for a ten-minute job. Even with an hour minimum, which to my knowledge there wasn't, this would be ridiculous. When I mentioned I wasn't given a quote before the repair was complete, I was told if I didn't like the quote and chose not to pay, the tech would have just gone out and removed the new capacitor. This seems disingenuous as a business practice. I as the customer feel my lack of knowledge in the HVAC industry was taken advantage of, and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Terrible, I was well over charged for a part that didn’t fix my A/C. Tried to call to give them a chance to redeem their company and was met with excuses and arrogance. Please use somebody else...anybody...sell the house. Just don’t use Ehlers and you can thank me later

Excellent! I'd had a nightmare experience with another Heating/Cooling company. Ehler's was recommended to me and I am so glad I called them. They installed my new Energy Efficient HVAC system in July of 2018. They were the 5th company I interviewed and their pricing was reasonable and I did not feel pressured. I have had my unit for over a year they have done the seasonal maintenance and I've had not issues. I love the new Smart thermostat that I can operated from my phone. My heating and cooling bills have been reduced. I wish I'd purchased a new system earlier. I highly recommend Ehlers for their total professionalism and reasonable pricing.

Great! Installation team was very conscientious and did a great job both installing and instructing me on use, maintenance, etc. We initially installed the Carrier furnace/AC system in Nov, 2017, and it kept us toasty throughout the winter. The system ran quiet and seemed quite efficient. This summer (2018), however, was unusually hot & humid. Although we replaced my old AC unit with the same size (2 ton), it appeared that with my high ceilings, a slightly larger unit would have been a better choice. When I called Ehler's, Keith Carter came to my home and worked very hard to tweak my ductwork first, and then ultimately we determined that I would benefit from a larger unit. I was delighted that Ehler's offered to take out the old 2 ton unit, and replace it with a new 3 ton unit, and the only charge was the nominal difference in parts cost between the two units - they took care of all the labor for free. The installer (Nate) did a very professional job and answered all my questions about the operation of the system. I am confident that this will work out very well next summer. Everyone at Ehler's was tremendously helpful, and I am grateful to have worked with a company that truly stands behind its customer satisfaction guarantee. I can highly recommend Ehler's for furnace/AC installations.

Went with Ehlers although their company is somewhat farther away than the usual companies I use because Ehlers is a certified Carrier dealer and they scheduled the service call sooner (6 days sooner) than my usual local Carrier dealer. Tech arrived at the appointed time, was very professional, and spent at least an hour diagnosing the issue which he determined to be a bad drive motor control board. Since I was interested, he took the time to show me the diagnosis flowchart and the readings that supported the conclusion. Ehlers has the tech provide the information to the office service manager who then determines part availability, cost to repair, and repair timing. The manager responded within 24 hours. After researching the problem on the web, I knew ahead of time that the manager's recommended repair and cost was reasonable and was pleased that they had the part and could do the repair immediately. The tech returned at the appointed time and replaced the motor and motor control module, which returned the furnace to working order. Overall, Ehlers was professional, reasonable, and efficient -- providing a much needed furnace repair in much less time than what otherwise could have been.

Considering our furnace was over 60 yrs. old, it was very difficult to remove. The team worked diligently to get it done. It was not an easy task. The only part that was **** ** us was waiting weeks for the install.

Met all my needs and requirements

They came on time.  Their price was well below the other two estimates.  The installer also helped fix a loose ground cable at no extra charge.  There was a problem with the new electrical cable on the heater.  They came out immediately and replaced.  Am extrmrly satisfied.

Just general repair. Very well. The workers were very professional. Courteous, and straight forward.

Several people who work there were fantastic and professional. They were more than willing to help me. There was a problem when one of the guys showed up and asked, "So what are we doing here?". He really shouldn't have said that, and probably should've waited for the work order. I got really nervous about them installing my furnace. The other guy he was working with was fantastic.

The inspector from my township found a condensation leak that needed to have another part to fix it. They did come back to fix it, but it was a brand new furnace and I didn't know what was going on there. They said it was a manufacturer problem and not an installation problem. I am hoping that everything is alright. They were very professional about it. They were concerned about making sure that I was happy and that it got fixed right.

It went great, I am very satisfied.

I cannot recommend Ehlers any higher. A few years ago, I went through the ringer of trying to find a reliable HVAC contractor and lucked into finding Ehlers after trying with two other companies (Reckingers & Mechanical). Ehlers was professional, prompt, always on time, and their quote came in lower than most with better genuine Carrier equipment. After we moved when we had to replace our AC, Ehlers was accommodating and kept our old unit running free of charge until they were able to replace it. When they came out, they replaced their entire HVAC system in two days. Their techs were respectful, on time, professional, and just amazing. We ended up having to leave midway through the second day, and the techs worked until early evening to make sure the job was done when we got home. Seriously, Ehlers ROCKS.

They responded to my after hours calls, and was willing to come out that evening to fix a warranted furnace blower.  They took my information, called me first thing in the morning and had it fixed and replaced in less than an hour.  Other companies kept trying to get me to pay the price of the warrantied part, plus 300-400 for installation.  They only charged me $150 to install and took care of the warrantied part for free.    Will use this company again, every time.  The company spent at least 15-20 min on the phone with me at 8:00 pm at night too.

Work was done quickly and at a reasonable price. The company was recommended by a neighbor. We are very happy with the work.

On budget on time and did the job exactly how they were supposed to and cleaned up after they were done.

Professional presentation of estimate. Estimate was comparable to three other local companies. The crew arrived right on time. They were courteous and professional. Work was done within the timeline specified.

Service man came out to home. Took about an hour to diagnos probeln which was tracked down to a circuit borad that went bad. Don't remember now if they had one in the shop but he had to leave to pick a new one up. After installing a new in box circuit board, the new board did not work either. Had to wait a few days for a third board which was installed and everything worked fine. Good work on Erv's part, wasn't happy with Honeywells QA on sending out a defective board. Would use Erv again though.
