Bill's Tri-County Hardwood Floors

Bill does great work and is very nice to deal with. We received an estimate and had him perform the work approx 4 weeks later. The work was completed by him personally and his crew. My house was in disarray longer than I would like due to moving furniture to accommodate the process, however I am very pleased with the results. Before leaving after completing the first portion Bill offered to assist my husband in moving some of the heavier furniture if he needed to complete the second portion. That was not something he had to do but it was kind of him to offer. I had additional estimates and he is very reasonable in comparison and does a great job.  This company was referred to me by someone who had used them and they were very pleased. I also referred him to someone who had him do their floors before I even booked & scheduled and they were also very happy with the work performed. Great price and great work.

Poorly. First Bill no-showed our original appointment and I had to call him and see what was up. In fairness there was a major snowstorm, but he took two days to call me back. Trying to be fair I let him re-schedule. He seemed like he wanted the job badly. The next week he came out to do the job. I was out of town for the exact days of the job, which he said would not be a problem. When I returned and had a chance to check the job it was really bad. He had sanded the middle portion of the floor fine but not the edges enough. As such the stain took very differently around the edges and the floor looks like it has a big bath tub ring around it. Further he left swirl marks in the stain in the middle portion of the floor. To top if off we had briefed extensively that the newly re-finished portion of the floor look very similar in shading to the other part of the floor 15 feet away. But the stain that he used isn't even close. So after the job was done there are three major problems with the floor. Upon being called on the carpet to fix them he told me my job was too small to mess with and he didn't want to have anything more to do with it. I then refused to pay him and he had the gall to ask me to cover his gas and stain expenses. So he wanted me to pay him for making my floor much worse than the original problem.

It went great. The floors look awesome and I was VERY shocked at how little dust there was. I was expecting to have to wipe everything down extensively but there was very little dust. I had measured out and gave a rough estimate on the square footage, Bill actually went through and re-measured and told me the actual was lower than my estimate saving me money. Also he gave a price break for cash payment which saved me money as well.

Contacted Bill's on a recommendation from a friend. Bill was a great guy to deal with. Personable, knew his trade, met us on time for the estimate and the job. Completed the job on time and met all our expectations. Bill told us about his "dustless" sanding machines. "Yeah, right" I thought. Maybe that meant they just weren't as dusty as others, right? I knew I'd still have to wipe down all the walls and the furnace would blow out dust for the next week, right? I asked him to tarp off the doorways to the rest of the house just in case. When we arrived home later in the day to check on the progress, we were AMAZED! Dust-free! The floors turned out fantastic and he even filled the cracks in. I can't tell you how great it was to deal with Bill, especially after so many disappointing contractors have come through our house. I would recommend Bill's Tri-County Hardwood Floors to anyone.
