Appliance Doctor Service

It went very well and I'm a happy customer. Mark showed me how good the rest of the unit looks after opening it up so we could look all around. He had brought the new suspension parts in his van so the repair could happen on the first visit. Mark is personable and efficient and within an hour he was done. I will call him for any future appliance repair needs.

Mark was fabulous. We needed our igniter replaced. He came when indicated, was able to fix in a timely manner, was professional, courteous, & nice. We will call again for future needs.

Our dishwasher would not run and the control panel did not light up. We called on November 8 and got an appointment for the following day. Mark came out during the window given and quickly diagnosed that there was a blown fuse. As we had an older model, the part did have to be ordered and came in over the weekend. On the 12th, Mark was back inside of the promised service window to replace the fuse and we now have a working appliance again.

Technician arrived on time. He was professional and courteous. He demonstrated knowledge of the issue by inspecting the unit and evaluating possible areas of trouble. After testing and evaluating, it was decided that the contactor relay switch needed to be replaced.

I called Appliance Doctor as a result of being dissatisfied with the previous repair company. I had called Mary's Appliances before because my oven wasn't working. Nothing worked except the burners (range). They came out and repaired the oven...sort of. After they left, I discovered that although the oven was working, the broiler wasn't, so I called them back because it had only been partially repaired. However, their view was that I had only told them that the oven wasn't working; I hadn't mentioned the broiler; therefore, for them to come out again would be a new service call. I thought this was unfair; I had no idea that fixing the oven wouldn't fix the broiler also. After a bit of arguing, they said if they came out again, they'd waive the $65 service call but not the repair fee. I was not happy with their service, so I looked elsewhere, and that's when I found Appliance Doctor. Even paying for the service call with Appliance Doctor was the same price as Mary's Appliance was with the service call fee waived, so I definitely preferred to try someone I might like as opposed to someone I knew I didn't like. Everything went well -- the repair person came out on time and promptly fixed the broiler, and he was pleasant to deal with. After he was done, I asked him: "If I had called you and told you the oven was broken, and you came and fixed it, and I called you back and said the broiler still wasn't working, would you charge me to come back out and fix it?" He replied, "No, I would not charge you for the service call. I would charge you for the part, but not the call." *That's* what I would expect from an appliance repair service, not the treatment I got from Mary's Appliance. Recently, my washer needed to be repaired, and remembering my good experience with Appliance Doctor, I called them to ask them to come out and fix my washer. Sadly, they no longer service my area.

Mark came out, looked at my ice maker and knew exactly what was wrong. It took him less than 10 minutes to pull it out and fix it. He waited until it completed its cycle to make sure it was going to put water in the actual ice tray rather than in the bin where it's been being turned into a block of ice. I have cubes again! He told me if something happened again and it needed a part, to call him and he'd come back out, change the part and just charge me for that rather than another service call. I would absolutely recommend him for repairs!

Great - he suggested I try to get the mfg to fix it for free since it sounded like something covered in a recall, so I did that. When that didn't completely fix it, they came out and only charged $95 to fix it.

Mark came out and plugged it back in again after we had tried that and it started working! Lasted about 2 days and quit again - he ordered the panel on front of freezer and was back out quickly and installed within minutes. Also gave us pointers on our front loading washer. He deducted the first visit from our total cost. Very happy with the Appliance Dr.!

He was very polite and courteous. Was always on time, has a unique way of scheduling. When I was sure what was happening, he was helpful enough to try and help me fix it over the phone or at least try to diagnose the problem at no charge! There were a few phone calls such as this at no charge. Then we came to the conclusion that I needed a new ice maker, then called again to make sure that everything was working correctly. Then it stopped working, so he came out in an appropriate time to find the issue. Got it fixed and he did all of this for just $75!

Our self-cleaning double-oven shut off in mid-cycle, leaving the door locked (which meant that we could not tell anyone the model number for service) and no display.  Wayne fit us into his schedule the same day as our call.  He arrived promptly at the appointment time, pulled the oven,  disassembled the control panel, and determined the cause of the problem, all within about 10 minutes.  Fortunately, it was only a thermal fuse.  He checked his supply on his truck, did an internet search to confirm that the part was correct for our 20+ year-old oven, and installed it.  The unit was reassembled and back in the wall within 30 minutes of his arrival (your time may vary).
Additionally, he offered suggestions to avoid this problem in the future (don't use the self-cleaning feature on a unit this old, because the fan might not work as well as it should).  He also checked the actual temperature of both ovens and re-calibrated the unit.  He left the area exactly as it was when he arrived.
We're very satisfied with this experience, and we will use them again for future service calls.
