since the repair man would be present, would he be able to take a look at a microwave that was not working properly. I was told it would not be a problem, and there was no mention to additional charges.
The repair man came and fixed the washer under warranty, and then after looking at the microwave, stated there was a diagnostic fee and that he would not leave until paid. While I have no issues paying the diagnostic fee, I do have a problem with the lack of transparency on charges before the service. When I discussed with a manager at the company, he stated it was standard to charge the fee but gave no explanation as to why I was not informed ahead of time.
I only used this company because of the warranty. Previously, I had a similar experience in which the management I spoke with was not helpful, arrogant, and rude during a partial repair of an oven. I subsequently used another repair company to finish the job. Unfortunately in this situation, I had no choice but to use them due to the warranty out sourcing. I am only writing this complaint now since it is the second time they have provided poor service.
"At Mr. Appliance we do our best to anticipate every scenario for multiple repairs. In your case we may have forgot to mention the diagnostic fee for a second appliance. That being said our technicians never refuse to leave without payment, and if asked they will always contact management if a customer has an issue with charges. I’m sorry if you felt that the 50% diagnostic fee was unfair or you felt it had no value."
