John and his crew did a great job, protected and respected my property, and cleaned up perfectly before leaving. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

In June I put a cash deposit down for a roofing job that I was told was scheduled to be done in July. They never showed up in July, and never called. In mid August, I contacted them about the matter, and they finally showed up to do the job in late August.
Because I like to keep my business local, I accepted their excuses (without complaint) for not showing up or calling to reschedule that job, and I put down a cash deposit in early September for another job on my small house in Harrisville.
I was directed by the owner of this company to have preparation work done at the Harrisville site (removal of a chimney) in order for the roof to be done. I did so. I was told by JHM that the job was scheduled for October 4th, but no one showed up. I called them and was told it had to be rescheduled for this week. This morning, out of the blue, the owner of the company has informed me that unless I am now willing to pay nearly double what he had originally bid, he was going to cancel the job. He now wants almost double the amount of that his estimate clearly stated was for the "whole roof"!!
I have been given this outrageous ultimatum at a time of the year when it is nearing the end of the season for roofing work. It is now nearly impossible to find a local roofing contractor - those that I have talked to this morning are booked into spring and no longer taking jobs for the fall. I feel as though JHM knew this would happen, and saw an opportunity to make fast extra cash.
The owner of John's Home Maintenance had held thousands of dollars of my deposit money all this time and now informs me that he is backing out of the job unless I accept his nearly double-the-money option.
John's Home Maintenance has left me hanging, and part of the roof on my property has been exposed for weeks waiting for the company to honor their bid and do the work they said that they would do, and the owner of JHM seems to care less.
I have conversed with the owner of JHM several times over the weeks as I have gotten the site ready, so he is very familiar with the job. I have copies of the bid which clearly states what the job is.
I do not recommend this company. They are extremely unprofessional in their dealings. They do not do work in a timely fashion. They have held thousands of dollars of my money, in good faith on my part. They even staked their business sign on my lawn over 2 months ago (when I first contacted them about this job) to get lots of free advertising in a high traffic area.
I can not believe they backed out and canceled their bid at this late date. Double or nothing - unbelievable tactic!
Stay away from this company, unless you want to be dropped at the end of the season like I have been.

Both times I have used them I found them to be very good. They are in and out in a day. He was there when he said he would be. He brings a crew in and they get the job done in a day and they came out and took care of the stuff. I think they did a very professional job. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Worked well with my insurance company. Was prompt repairing items. Had roofing blown off down to the plywood and was pleased that the repair was completed quickly with no further water damage.

The job was done in one day. The contract states that all debris would be picked up including nails with the help of a powerfull magnet system. I have picturers of about a 1/3 of a pound of nails and staples not to mention pieces of old shingles that were left around the house, garage and driveway. I had vinyl gutters on my nouse and they installed regular 3/4 drip edge which did not extend far enough to reach the vinyl gutters. The rain fell between the drip edge and the gutters. When I brought this to John's attention, I was told that it was not their problem but mine. I also have pictruers of the gap between the gutters amd the drip edge. He also told me that they do NOT make a longer drip edge for the vinyl gutters. ANOTHER LIE ! I found the correct drip edge at Home Depot and Do It Best hardward. I offered to purchase the edging if they would install it and was told again that it's my problem. I would do it myself but I fell off a ladder in March 2013 and broke five ribs, puncturerd a lung, fractured the pelvis and hip and can no longer get on a ladder. I ended up having to hire Seamless gutters and have new gutters installed to stop the water from dripping on my head.. I also was afraid that the water running down the facia would eventually rot the wood. Now the roof is leaking into the celing where the wood buner stove stack goes through. When JOHN came to look at it, he looked at the furnace chimney and said the mortor had to be replaced. ? You can see the celing tile turning brown from the rain spots leaking down. NOT HE FURNACE CHIMNEY BUT THE WOOD STOVE STACK!! DUH! A rep came to look and said it must be condensation from the fire stack. He finally put some sealer aroung the flashing. Hope it works. Looks like that migjt be my problem too. I WOULDN'T HIRE JOHN'S HOME MAINTENANCE TO PUT A ROOF ON A DOG HOUSE!!!!! BUYER BE WARE! Dave Marshick..

Repaired roof while we were away. Picked up all debris. Forgot siding as they usually don't do it, but were prompt to come back and repair that, also. Hired them because they replaced my roof several years ago and did an awesome job. The storm took a 10' square off and everyone that gave me an estimate and the insurance adjuster all remarked what a good roofing job I had.

They arrived about 7am with a crew of about 10. They put up plywood barriers to prevent damage to the side of the house and the wood deck from the falling old shingles and they put out tarps to catch the debris. At about 10am the rain started and they put roofing paper over all exposed areas. They cleaned up debris and left promising to be back at 7am the next day. They arrived at 6:45am and went to work. The job was finished by 2pm including cleanup and replacement of some bad substrate that they found on part of the roof. The building is about 3500 sq. ft. on one floor.
I have never seen any contractor's crew work as fast and efficiently as his. We are very happy with the quality of the job and their professionalism.
