This company is a class act. We have used them for 20 years a few times a year and they are top notch always. We had to wait a bit for the service call but they were honest about the work load and time frame. They fixed the issue quickly without trying to upsell or make crazy suggestions. I will continue to use them and always recommend them.

Al and his wife have been helpful and responsive. They do good work and stand behind it, if they've needed to come back to tweak something there has been no charge. They offer lot's of options from repairing/replacing with used or new parts as well as offer installation of new appliances which they can sell you, I've used them for everything so far. Pricing is very fair and I never feel they are trying to pull one over on me. I always recommend them for appliance repair.

Al is very professional and down to earth.  He is quick to get to work and diagnose the issue, proceed with repairs and is priced much lower than others I have contacted for same type of service.  
Highly recommend First Class Appliance especially for single females as there are far too many providers out there who might not deal squarely with homeowner if there isn't a male in the house (my experience).  
Using Al's services again for dryer vent issue/disconnect - my 'go to' company for repairs these days.

Washer has been acting up for a few months. Every time I started a load of wash, after a few minutes it would stop and start beeping. I would turn it off, let it drain, then restart it. Only then would it wash through a complete cycle (an hour and 15 minutes later). It started leaking onto the floor and last week the liquid softener was not dispensing into the clothes. Finally 2 days ago it quit working and the door lock stuck, holding my wet clothes hostage. I called First Class and they said they could be out in 1/2 - 1 hour. The technician arrived in 55 minutes. I was shocked at the quick and punctual response. The technician was very polite and professional. He explained what he was doing, why we were having these issues and answered all of my questions. The price was very good. We hesitated to call for so long because we thought it would be an expensive fix. He was in and out in about a half an hour 45 minutes. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to family and friends.

He came out initially and replaced the timer on the dryer. Once we started using the dryer we realized the timer wasn't working correctly. The company ordered another timer and brought it out and installed it quickly. Everything is working perfectly now.

Our (gas) dryer was not drying and the timer wasn't working. We did a bit of troubleshooting and were not confident enough to tackle the repair on our own. Called around and a lot of companies were asking for a fee to come to the house (not like we can take a dryer to a shop!) and then parts and labor. Called 1st Class and was told (by the owner) what the cause of the problem most likely would be, no 'housecall' fee, and he gave an estimate of the final price. We arranged for him to come on the next business day and the dryer was repaired, tested and the job complete in a matter of MINUTES! It was amazingly fast. But, even better than that, was the bill was LESS than the phone quoted amount! Who does that?!?! Lightning fast work, knowledgeable owner/worker(s) and VERY decent price!

ALAN'S ASSOCIATE SHOWED UP AT 1 PM, AND EVALUATED MY DISHWASHER, TELLING ME I NEEDED A NEW ONE, WHICH WAS ACCURATE. IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, ALAN'S ASSOCIATE IS " COMMUNICATION CHALLENGED ", AND DOES NOT LIKE INTERACTING WITH PEOPLE - I HAD TO " PULL " EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION OUT OF HIM, LIKE I WAS PULLING TEETH, THOUGH HE IS HONEST, AND DOES DO VERY GOOD WORK. WHEN HE WAS DONE EVALUATING THE DISHWASHER, I ASKED HIM IF HE WAS GOING TO BLOW OUT THE DRYER VENT LINE, WHICH I HAD DISCUSSED WITH ALAN, ON EACH OF THE 3 PREVIOUS DAYS, INCLUDING THAT SAME MORNING, BUT THE ASSOCIATE KNEW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT - IT HAD NOT BEEN COMMUNICATED TO HIM, AT ALL, BY ALAN, WHICH, IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, IS QUITE NORMAL, WHEN YOU ARE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY - THE LACK OF INTERNAL COMMUNICATION, COMPLETE LACK OF ORGANIZATION, TOTAL LACK OF NORMAL ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCY, AND LOGISTICAL FOLLOW THROUGH, IS BASICALLY NON-EXISTENT. WHEN ALAN'S ASSOCIATE WENT OUTSIDE TO BLOW OUT THE KITCHEN VENT, I WENT WITH HIM, NOT ONLY TO SEE HOW MUCH LINT AND DUST CAME OUT ( I.E., HOW DIRTY IT WAS ), BUT I TOOK A PAPER GROCERY BAG WITH ME, TO PUT IT UNDER THE VENT OPENING, TO TRY AND CATCH AS MUCH LINT AS POSSIBLE, TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF LINT, FROM BEING BLOWN, ALL OVER MY PATIO AND GARDEN, AND ALL THE TIME IT WOULD TAKE, AND THE DIFFICULTY, OF MY THEN TRYING TO HAVE TO TRY AND PICK IT ALL UP. ALAN'S YOUNG ASSOCIATE DID NOT LIKE THIS, EVEN AFTER I TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT TO HIM. HE ALSO DID NOT TELL ME THAT ALL THE LINT WOULD BE BLOWING ALL OVER ME, MY FACE, HAIR, ALL OVER MY CLOTHES, IN A " LINT STORM ", WHICH HE SEEMED TO GET SATISFACTION FROM, AND DID NOT APOLOGIZE FOR - AGAIN, IMPO, HE IS VERY COMMUNICATION CHALLENGED, AND WOULD MUCH RATHER INTERACT WITH HIS PHONE ( LIKE MOST PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 45 TODAY ). IN ALL MY DEALINGS WITH ALAN, HE HAS NEVER, EVER ACKNOWLEDGED, OR APOLOGIZED, AT ALL, OR FELT THE NEED TO SAY HE WAS SORRY, FOR ANY OF ALL OF THE ISSUES ABOVE, OR FOR ANY LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, ON HIS OR HIS COMPANY'S PART. I TOLD ALAN, AT THE 1ST SERVICE CALL, THAT ON HIS ANGIE'S LIST COMPANY PROFILE, THAT IT CLEARLY LISTED BOTH A " SENIOR DISCOUNT ", AND THAT PAYMENT BY VISA, MASTERCARD, ETC, WAS ACCEPTED, BY HIS COMPANY. ALAN ACTED SUPRISED, AND SAID, " REALLY ? I'LL HAVE TO CHECK ON THAT ". HE THEN GAVE ME THE SENIOR DISCOUNT, AND ACCEPTED A CREDIT CARD PAYMENT ( THIS WAS FOR A $ 257 BILL, ON A COMPLETE DRYER OVERHAUL, FOR A DRYER THAT ORIGINALLY COST $ 500 ). BACK TO HIS ASSOCIATE, AND TRYING TO PAY MY BILL, FOR THE DISHWASHER EVALUATION, AND DRYER VENT CLEANING. HE WENT ON HIS PHONE, THEN TOLD ME THAT THE " INTUIT " PAYMENT SYSTEM, WASN'T WORKING, AND REQUESTED ALL OF MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, WHICH I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE, AT ALL, IN GIVING OUT, AND NEVER DO GIVE OUT, BUT, KNOWING HOW UNBELIEVABLY DIFFICULT IT WOULD BE, TO TRY TO GET A HOLD OF ALAN, AND HAVE A CALM, RATIONAL, " PATIENT " DISCUSSION WITH HIM, RE: PAYING MY BILL, USING THE CREDIT CARD, OR WAITING FOR DAYS, TO GET A RETURN PHONE CALL, FROM AMY, TO PAY THE BILL, USING MY CREDIT CARD, I DID ALLOW ALANS ASSOCIATE, TO COPY DOWN ALL MY CC INFORMATION, TO TAKE BACK TO THE OFFICE, TO PAY THE BILL. TODAY, 6 DAYS LATER, I CALLED MY CC COMPANY, TO SEE IF THE CHARGE FOR FROM ALANS COMPANY HAD GONE THROUGH, AND, OF COURSE, IT HADN'T. I ALSO WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT THEIR PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE, LIABILITY, AND BONDING, COVERED ALL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, AND THAT THEY HAD DESTROYED ALL OF MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, AFTER PUTTING THE CHARGE THROUGH. SINCE THE COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS, YOU ARE FORCED TO TRY AND CALL, FOR ALL SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION, AND WHEN YOU DO SO, YOU ALWAYS GET ALAN, MULTI-TASKING, AND RUSHING, " ON THE JOB ". THIS MORNING, I CALLED ALAN, TO DISCUSS THE CC CHARGE, AND WHY IT HAD NOT BEEN PUT THROUGH YET, AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE SITUATION WAS, AS USUAL. Al diagnosed the problem over the phone and ordered the correct part which took a couple of days to get. Al showed up on time and got right to work disassembling the stove and removing the module. The new module was installed and checked for correct operation. The price was fair and the work was completed in about 45 minutes. I would recommend First Class Appliance Repair.

When I called I spoke with the owner, Alan. He had an idea what the problem was based on the description I gave him over the phone. He stopped by later that day to take a look at the washing machine and confirmed what he had guessed the problem was. He returned two days later to do the repair, and he showed up on time. Alan handled himself in a professional manner, was very knowledgable, and was careful not damage anything as he had to take the washing machine outside to do the repair. Also, his labor rate was very reasonable considering the amount of work involved to do this repair. The washing machine has worked perfectly since he completed the repair. I will definately call Alan again the next time I need an appliance repairman.

Scheduling the appointment was very easy and they were able to come within a couple of days. Our range would automatically turn itself off when we were cooking. The repairman was able to diagnose the issue and we had to replace the board. Unfortunately, the board for our range was no longer made so it had to be rebuilt. The repairman stated this would take 10 days. It took a couple of days longer. But they were able to come out the day after they received it and the installation went smoothly and the oven has worked well since. He also installed a solonoid valve in our refrigerator that we had already purchased. That fixed an issue we had with the ice maker not functioning. Because the part we purchased was expensive, before he installed the part, he made it clear that the ice maker may be problematic due to the fact that the water comes through a reverse osmosis system we had installed in our house and the water pressure is lighter than ideal for ice makers. We had him install the part anyway and the ice maker is working fine so far. But I appreciate him letting us know that the part may not last due to the lack of water pressure. I would recommend this company.
