"Jason and his crew did a phenomenal job. With all the contractors we've had to deal with Jason was our favorite. Ours was last minute, but Jason shows up when he says he will and completes the job when he said he would. His guys will stay late to make sure timelines are met. One night his guy stayed until 2AM. Jason is very professional and cares about the work he performs. He cares about his customers and does whatever it takes. As we are moving into month 15 of a house build, Jason is the only contactor that showed up on time, finished on time, cleaned up after themselves and did not charge us extra.. I cannot say enough good things about Jason."

"Tyler and his crew have done multiple projects for our house, including a new roof, repairing drywall from a water leak, and replacing siding and soffit. They always treated us fairly, promptly and with respect. Tyler gave us a fair quote and was quick to finish all of the projects. He was awesome. Thanks Tyler."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It is definitely worth sanding a deck to ensure the wood absorbs new stain. Sanding a deck removes the outer layers of aging wood, allowing the stain to penetrate. It also gives a fresh look to the entire surface as part of the deck refinishing process. Without sanding, your stain or sealant is less likely to absorb into the wood. While sanding a deck is a time-intensive project, the rewards are noticeable and long-lasting.

Oxygen bleach uses hydrogen peroxide as a base and won’t harm wood when using it as a cleaner. On the other hand, chlorine bleach breaks down wood at the cellular level and causes irreversible harm. Although you may not see immediate damage to wood after exposing it to chlorine bleach, its strength and integrity are now compromised.

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

Always wait until the morning dew has dried before you stain your deck. The stain needs a fully dry surface to sink into.
