Randy has been very nice and seemed to have done plenty of drywall jobs in the past according to his statements. He came out to look at the job site and give us an estimate. His price was fair, the job was big and not easy. We have a walk out basement that needed a structural beam and after two years all settling was done and we were ready to tackle the remodeling. This included new drywall under the ceiling, there was none before, we prepared the job site for Randy, all he had to do was hang drywall, mud and tape so we can finish with primer and paint. Also the walls needed a lot of TLC, since there was paneling before, which we took down, Randy needed to remove some old nail glue and then the overall need was to smooth out the damages and finish. We have done plenty of drywall ourselves in the past years, being investors with fixer upper homes that needed major work, we knew we did not want to deal with any of this again, overhead mud and tape, heavy sheets of drywall.... I might be a perfectonist and have to deal with the fact that a handyman will never do as good of a job as I would myself.... but after priming and painting all walls and ceiling I had to grab my mud bucket and fix seams, bubbles, airholes, unevenness and overall bad sanding jobs, where the old drywall was damages from the glue Randy should have, like I did on some walls already before he started the job, cut the fringed and loose edges and then applied mud, he applied mud over loose drywall surface which resulted in the paper bubbling and no matter how much mud you put over it, it shows through the paint. We had ideal circumstances with the floor being tiled and us not caring too much about the mess since we wanted carpet installed over t, but the job site was very messy and when we asked him to clean up a little he said :oh just put heavy padding under the carpet. He did clean up a bit and I finished cleaning for him. I have mud pulled over outlets (which resulted in turning of all power and clean out 7 outlets and replace three of them) and door and door hinges. Unfortunately the basement was supposed to be ready for a big New Years party... I had to call the carpet installers and postpone them because the walls and ceilings are so bad that it will take us days to redo and repaint. At this point I am not sure what I should do, I called Randy and left him a message to call me back, but even if he would agree to come back and fix the lousy job, it will take too long for him to get us up and running in time. Since we have another remodeling job going on in the house I just got to the painting three days ago and since then I am debating on what to do. I started fixing the walls and ceiling but it is such a large area and amount of patch jobs that I am - right now - just plain frustrated. Randy estimated one and a half week for the job, he already worked two days longer and should have probably worked an overall of 2.5 weeks to perform better. I think he underestimated the amount of work and just wanted to be done. Update: After waiting for three days now I have not received a return call from Randy. We found one more disturbing and bothersome issue He drywalled over our TV antenna that was sticking out 3 feet for him to cut a hole in the drywall for access, now we had to open an entire sheet of drywall, already primed and painted in order to access the cable. So conclusion....I will not hire Randy again, I paid good money for a job I could have done much better.

He did not level the bathtub. He did not repair the thing jobs he was supposed to correctly. Every time I asked him something he would give me an answer that was dumb. He would not check with me on the jobs that he was doing. It was always his way. He did things his way. He would take days off and time off. He always tried to argue with me. I had to let him go.
Description of Work: He had to some repairs to my bath room. He has to add some supports, drywall, and add a new bathtub.

Response from Right Choice Remodeling
After 30 years in business I have never ran into a more impossible person to work for. I was there everyday, but she was responsible for buying the materials and she seemed to never have them there. She gave me a down payment check to start the job and put a stop payment on it before I could even start. We came to a mutal agreement to terminate services.
