LAPEER AWNING & WINDOW CO

After getting an unsolicited recommendation from a family member we decided to call Lapeer Awning and Window. It was the best call we have made in a long time. Dan came out and gave us a low pressure down to earth estimate and took the time to show us their window offering and explain how the window replacement would go. On installation day, Dave showed up on time and did a fantastic job of carefully removing the old windows and meticulously installing the new windows. While doing his job he still took the time to talk to us and was a great guy to have do the work. Don't want to forget how nice it was to deal with Michelle. She did a great job of setting up the estimate date and keeping us posted. The few questions we did have about warranty she answered them completely and never left us feeling stupid for asking. Honestly, we can't wait to have them come out and replace the remaining windows next year.

The Owner's son was a half hour late, the crew did not clean up the debris on the deck after installing the window. The biggest issue was the owner's son who took the order told me that his window tint would block the sun so it would not shine in our face at the dinner table. I told them our whole plan was to remove the old window and shades and have dark tint window so that shades would not be needed. He asked which color tint and I picked greyish instead of the brown hue. When the window was installed, and the sun was shining through, I called to complain and the owner denied the whole conversation and said he installed what I ordered. He was rude on the phone and kept repeating, "you picked the tint, maam" I said yes I did the color of the tint, but you are not going to admit you assured me the sun would not shine through? He hung up the phone on me and when I called back his secretary told me he is the owner and there is nothing I can do. I feel like to make the sale the owner said he had the window I was looking for and then when it was not, he denied saying that is what he told me. Since that time, I have found a company who would have ordered the window taken it to get dark tint and then installed it. Will never do business with this company again, for I spent 700 dollars for a window and was lied to about what they sold me. I will add also that for 45 minutes the owner and his helper stood around on deck trying to decide how to install this window and finally called another person to help them. when I asked about that the owner on the phone said that was not their fault they had no idea how heavy the window was. While waiting on the extra help, the owner's son also told me we had a crappy patio door and that his 1700 installed would block the heat coming in that our door was allowing in. Just very unprofessional bashing other companies to make the window sale, lying to me to make the sale and I don't like being lied to.

It went very well Dave, Phil and Chris were extremely polite and professional. They showed up on time and put in a full days work to get our project done right and quickly. They did an amazing job with our huge new windows!

Installed called early to inquire if I still wanted installation that day as storms were forecast. I took car from garage allowing him to back up to garage and unload the doors. The installer was great. He took his time and made sure everything was done correctly. This same gentleman installed my basement windows last year and does top notch work. LAW is locally owned andhas been in this area for years. Their prices can't be beat for quality products. If there ever is a problem they are quick to resolve it as Dave prides himself in having satisified customers.
