I'm thinking of cancelling my treatment and demanding a full refund after just one visit. After setting up my first visit with TruGreen and being told my prices which were promised to be around $26.47 for the first application and around $52.95 for the rest so not terrible in my mind. So imagine my surprise when my first bill is over $79.42, now looking at my bill it seems that a charge for TruPro Grub Control for about $52.95 there a charge I did not ask for and was never asked of me it was just charged with no communication between me and TruGreen. If this is the business practices that TruGreen employs, then I would recommend people looks elsewhere. The sad part is if I had just been called and asked about this I would of given them at least 3 stars for their service so far but with this being what happened after the first service visit I can’t in good faith continue to support or use such a scummy company.

Trugreen is TOTALLY AWFUL!! After 2 years of lawn treatments and promises, I still have major bare spots in my lawn. They did the aeration/seeding and nothing popped up. They did it again. Still NOTHING. The 2nd time they did that though, I took pictures afterwards. There were very few grass seeds! They took samples but never came back with results. I asked them to let me know when they were coming so I could be home. They never did so I don't know if they even ever put anything on the lawn. I would call and talk to technicians - each time I got different responses. All I wanted was assistance to make my grass grow and look better. A couple thousand dollars and two years later, it's worse then when I started. If there is a problem with the soil, why not tell me so I can do what needs to be done??? I also got the tree&shrub service. Four pretty good-sized trees died. All I got was many charges and empty promises. I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone!!!

They came out and did the recommended applications but my lawn still had weeds and bare spots. I notice another reviewer mentioned bare spots in the lawn. A technician came out but I got the same answer as the other reviewer about different kind of grasses. Funny that we never had bald spots before in the 20+ years we lived here and have always had the lawn treated. We have in ground sprinklers so water was not an issue. If I pointed out weeds, those weeds were treated but any others in the grass were not. I agree with the other reviewer. How can you find any problems when you don't walk. Our property is .5 acres so it isn't huge. When you call about a problem they will try to sell another service. I think they need to perfect the one they are supposed to be doing. I had Scotts doing the lawn for 5 years and was happy with them but then Scotts merged with TruGreen. When that happened I called to cancel but was talked into giving them a chance. I gave them 2 years. I had TruGreen before Scotts and fired them. From 1995 to 2003 they were taking care of our trees and lawn. They were doing a good job in the beginning but probably around 2002 and 2003 the service went downhill. We ended up cutting down 9 pine trees on our property due to disease and raccoons tore the lawn up in the spring of 2003 looking for and finding grubs. We have always paid for a grub control treatments. Because we travel, I was concerned about missing bills, so I called to set up direct payment from a credit card. I called them twice because I got overdue bills. The website showed that I had a 0 balance but the direct payment was not applied to my account. I have had it with TruGreen and have cancelled all their services.

Had Scott's Lawn Care and a beautiful lawn, company sold to try-green and things started to go down hill. Lawn just didn't look quite as good, but stayed with them. Last year we notified them of a 3 ft square brown patch. Two technicians looked at it and said they would note problem. No response, then patch continued to grow. Always a different technician each application. Two different specialist/supervisors came out said we see problem, will have it taken care of within 48 hours. Needs to be reversed, grub protection, grubs are the problem. We will reseed in the fall and make you happy. Fast forward to fall, told it is too late to seed, we'll take care of it when services resume in spring. Spot has grown from 3 ft sq to more than 200 sq feet. They talk a good game, but there is NEVER follow through and no ownership of what they have done. Our beautiful Scott's Lawn is gone, and we are stuck with Tru Green's botched service. Talked with neighbor adjacent, he now does his own and has dropped Tru Green.

We have had TruGreen for 8 years too long, and this will be our last. For the last 3 years our lawn has progressively gotten worse. This year we have been inundated with weeds. Mid-year we caught them using a rider and no longer walking our lawn. We were told our lawn was too big and it would now be extra. They go so fast on the rider the lawn isn't getting enough of the application or too much (they've had to come out several times in between because of the weeds). Some parts of our lawn are now dead (we've been told it could be heat stress to different kinds of grass). I would agree that there is different grass, but it hasn't been an issue in the past, and we water our lawn as we have in the past. During one of their visits, we caught them turning off the sprayer (Broadleaf Weed Control). When asked, we were told they are trying to go greener. Well so am I...I'd like green grass, NOT WEEDS and dead patches, which is what we pay for. He said if there are no weeds he turns it off and then turns it on again. He's going so fast, how can he possibly see it that well? Btw, if you look at your receipt, under BROADLEAF WEED CONTROL, Areas: "Where Needed" might be listed (it was listed that way on all of ours except the first treatment). To me that says they are not applying it to your lawn. It's hit or miss on your weeds, especially on a tractor going at its highest speed. We follow their instructions and wait the 24 hours for watering. We water and cut our lawn properly. It has just been a the last few years. It's either the mix or the application. They almost killed our lawn a couple years ago, and we gave them another chance. That was our mistake and now we are paying for it. My assessment is that by killing your lawn, and they are allowing crab grass (or other grass like weeds) and other invasive weeds like creeping charlie to invade our lawns. This opens the door for them to sell more treatments to you. We use to have a grass we could walk barefoot in on our front lawn. It is now course, and we have this weed like grass that has taken over. We now have creeping charlie. We will not be using TruGreen, nor do I recommend them to anyone.

I have used TruGreen services for the past 3 years. I am greatly satisfied with the great work they perform on my lawn, Some services are quite pricey however I like my lawn to look as green as possible, so therefore I don't mind paying to have it look its' best. I will always use TruGreen they stand behind their work.

I hired Trugreen to do a variety of services on our lawn and requested that they always call a day in advance of coming. For the last 3 or 4 treatments they did not call. I went over it repeatedly with them, got promises, but then someone would show up again, unannouced. I finally fired them.

They did fine. They are always willing to make things right if there is a problem. My only complaint is feeling like I have to renegotiate the pricing every time our contract renews.

They could have shown up in the morning instead of the afternoon. They will take advantage of your time. I want to be here when they do service in my lawn, it abuses my time to stay here all morning. I thought their price is fair. I'm not happy with them not showing up.

I like that they inspect and check. Their interaction is good. Sometimes they don’t do a proper job quality-wise. I had a few problems. They need to understand individual problems and understand what they are treating for and then figure out if the treatment is necessary or not. They just sell stuff but they don’t really care what the customer needs.

The first year they did a good job; the second year, I am not very happy. The second year, I happen to see some weed and the grass also doesn’t look very lively. I will give them a chance for one more year and see how it goes.

I've had them for the last three years. The first two years, they were fantastic. This year, I don't know what happened to them. In order for me to get the service from them, I have to call them up. I'm supposed to be on their schedule. They just don't show up. So, I have to call them. I pay $485 a year. They're supposed to come about every four to five weeks. Their price is high. When they do come out they do a good job. It's just getting them there and getting them on a schedule that they're supposed to be on. I'm under contract with them. They should show up automatically. They're very professional when they come out. They're very courteous and very nice. When I call them, they're very nice on the phone. I'm not calling them next year. I'm done with them.

I'm very satisfied with them. Their price is reasonable. Their service is very good. They call me and let me know that they're going to be here on a certain day. I don't really see them. I just see the little flag stuck in my yard and a report of what they did stuck in my door. They leave the area fine. I don't even know they're there, except for their little flag. I would definitely refer them to others. I had a different service in the past and I wasn't pleased, but I've been very pleased with the way my lawn looks now.

Service was okay.  I felt they should have spent a more time and care on the spot treating of weeds.  Each monthly application of various time dependent chemicals took technician only 5 - 10 minutes, total, to apply to my entire lawn.  This is according to their summary that they leave.  I know they will come out between applications and re-treat the weeds, but as the weed killer...particularly the spot treatment...takes up to 3 weeks for the weeds to start dying, it would be almost time for the next treatment when I would call and say that there is still a lot of weeds in my yard.  Just feel that, for the cost, I should have had better results.  I cancelled the service this year.

They did two applications for us within 3 month. It was a good experience and the person who came explained what he was doing. When I contacted them, they gave me good feedback.
