Same Day Door Service

I contacted Sam Day Service on Monday morning.  I was told someone would be at my house that afternoon at 1 PM.  By 3PM, no one had shown up.  I called Same Day Service again and was told his repair guy was delayed and he was told the repair guy had called me - he hadn't.  The owner then said his guy would be at my house within 20 minutes.  By 4 PM, when no one had shown, I called back and rescheduled for 1 PM the following day.  The following morning, I called Same Day Service and said I had made arrangements to work at home so they could come anytime.  The owner told me his repair guy would be at my house around 9 AM.  The guy showed up at 10 AM, looked at my door and told me the wheels needed to be replaced.  He did not have any wheels in his truck.  He said he had to go back to the shop and would return around noon.  By 3 PM, he had not come back and I had not received any phone calls telling me what was going on.  I called back and told them I would find someone else to repair my garage door.  I wasted two days waiting for this repair guy to show up and fix my door.  It was a waste of my time and extremely frustrating.  I was not contacted to inform me anyone was going to be late etc,, I had to initiate all of the phone calls trying to track the repair guy down.  I would not recommend this company to any one else.

I used Angie's List and decided on Same Day Service because they had several good reviews. I ordered my door and the representative came out to measure and pick up my $700 deposit on May 23rd. The check cleared on May 27th, and I waited....and I waited....and I waited. My door wasn't delivered or installed until June 6th, and I had to call repeatedly to find out what was going on. Was my door ordered? When could I expect it? Same Day Service is definitely a misnomer. It also threw me a little when I called and they answered the phone as "Door Service". On June 6 my door was delivered by two guys in a van that broke down repeatedly on the way to my house. Neither gentleman had a cell phone so the owner called MY phone to talk to his "boys". To be fair, the door looks beautiful and appears to be working well, but I was less than impressed by the whole experience.

Door Service was able to come out and install a new garage door that we ordered the day after I called. They showed up a little late, but got to work right away and thoroughly explained the process of installation to me and how long it would take. When we ran into an issue with some wrong parts in the box that was delivered, they kindly waited at my home until the correct part arrived and did not charge extra. I was also impressed with their professionalism because when I called and asked for a quote, I was given the wrong estimate, but they split the difference with me instead of making me pay the full amount that they regularly charge. I was very satisfied with the work that was done and after using a few other garage door companies for repairs with our former door, I feel that Same Day Service (or Door Service as it is written on the truck), was the best option and would definitely call again.

Excellent. I called on a Saturday afternoon, they came out and inspected it on Sunday and gave an estimate. I approved the estimate and they replaced the door on Monday before I got home from work. Best of all, to help me save money, he went and got a garage door that was on sale at Menards for me at no extra charge since it was on sale for less than he could sell the same quality door.

The problem was quickly discovered to be a cable that had slipped off track. This was something that has happened in the past. Further investigation revealed that our door had never been installed properly. It had not been balanced properly so only one of the springs was lifting the door. That explains why we've had cables slip off numerous times, burnt out a motor on the opener and were unable to lift the door manually without great difficulty. The problem was corrected quickly and without costing a fortune.

We loved the professionalism and the attention to detail, that this company showed us. The new garage door works perfectly.
