The job was in conjunction with a new counter I was getting from the Kitchen Shop. Rycus was doing the tile work above the counter. I was very pleased with the job the tile guys from Rycus did. They were friendly and professional and did the job quickly and cleaned up the mess. The problem came a few weeks later when a huge crack formed all along the seam between the tile and the counter. I called Rycus to have the guys come out and fix the crack. The girl I talked to said she would talk to them and call me back. She didn't call so I called again. She told me the same thing. She never called back. I found out that putting grout in the seam is a big no-no and will cause a crack to form. My husband applied caulk along the crack and it looks great. I will not use a company that doesn't back up their work. So despite them doing an excellent job I will not go to them again.

The bedroom carpet and wood stairs steps were installed without problems as was the floor and door trim. The bathroom tile floor was a different story. We chose larger tile and the tiles that went under the bathroom stool were not installed level, thus the stool would not sit level on the tile. The stool would rock back and forth. I pointed this out many times to Mr. Rycus and he saw the stool rock back and forth. I wanted the tile removed and new tile laid level. His reply was that he wanted his plumber to look at this. I told Mr. Rycus that if the tile were not removed and new tile laid level, to just leave everything alone and I would hire someone else to lay tile level around the sewer opening. He ignored that request. He had his plumber lay down a stainless steel ring on the tile, then placed the stool on the ring and then caulk around the gap that was exposed between the not level tile and the bottom of the stool. The whole project, living room, bedroom, stairs and bathroom took them almost 3 months to the day to complete. He never told us it would take them that long to do the job. If you want promptness in a project and someone who will listen and correct a problem his people cause, DO NOT hire Rycus for a flooring job.

Purchasing process was good. I was able to bring many sample carpet pieces home to help me decide what to purchase. The salesman, BJ Rycus, was professional and knowledgeable. The installers were professional and thorough and left the house clean.
Installation was scheduled at my convenience.

We stopped into their showroom to get some ideas for new flooring and tile ideas for covering our old brick fireplace. Salesperson was very helpful and spent a lot of time helping us find some options we really liked within our budget. Let us spend as much time as we wanted in the showroom. Took samples home with us and Ron Rycus came out a couple days later to get measurements of our rooms and the fireplace and help us with some decisions on the final products.
Their price was comparable to another quote we received and they were able to begin work as soon as the materials arrived from the manufacturer.
The installers were professional and did a great job. The flooring turned out beyond amazing (everyone always thinks its real wood instead of laminate) and the fireplace looks like something out of a magazine. Both installers (one was a flooring installer and the other was a tile installer) made sure to pay attention to all the details and when we had a small question about one area, the flooring installer was out the very next day to address it.
I highly recommend Rycus Flooring to anyone looking for flooring or tile work. It is a family business (father and son team) and they do a good job of finding you the best option to fit your budget. Lots of samples in their showroom and they are more than happy to let you take them home. We are using them again already to install flooring in our basement!

We initially were working through a kitchen remodeling shop who suggested that if we dealt directly with Rycus we would save their mark-up. We thought it a goos idea so we went directly to Rycus. The quote went from $4200 through the remodeling shop to $4995. We did add a small bath to the estimate, 4'x5' with vanity, hardly $700 worth. The first reason given was that we selected a more expensive tile for the second quote, but both quotes had the identical materials. the second reason given was the addition of the bathroom...$700? I don't think so. The final reason was somone has mis-calculated the quanities for the first estimate. I guess we should have stayed working through the remodeling shop. I was disappointed that through all of this I just got excuses and double talk, not once was there any offer to try to make it right...finally I explained my disapppointment and he offered to knock off $200...so the final deal ended being more than the 10% the remodeling shop would have charged. They also charged me $85 to restaple the carpet and $150 for a 30" piece of oak for the stair step transition which I had to recut to striaghten out the cut and also had to finish with stain and polyurethant. Then, the installer ended up subbing out the job to a fellow who, though he did a nice job, it took him SIX days to complete and he tiled too close to the toilet flange so we had to chip awat tile and grout to get the flange bolts in. Foolishly, we went ahead and ordered the back-splash from them. It was supposed to be installed within three days of delivery, or so I was told. The electrician had to wait for the backsplash to be installed to finish. the first date was two and one-half weeks after delivery. When told that would not work, they called back the next day and scheduled for the following week. As the date approached I got a call apologizing for the delay and discoverd that they had rescheduled for another week later. I was told they would not refund the tile, so I told them I would just pick it up as I had already paid for half the job. That is when I found my own installer through the kitchen remodeler and it was installed five hours later at half the labor cost. When they charged me for the tile they included a $60 shipping charge (to their showroom as we picked it up)...their way of compensating me for the inconvenience I guess.

I referred them to other people and they did a good job. He supplied the materials and tile. He was great to work with and showed up when I asked him to. He completed the job without hounding him. They are coming back in a week to regrout.

Mr. Rykus came out and took the measurements and provided me with a quote on the spot. He was very prompt and did not take much time to do the estimating. When the installation occurred, there were three people doing the installation. They were very prompt and got the job done quickly. They took care to help me move furniture and also helped move it back when they were finished. The company lets you pay 50% up front, and 50% after the installation, which I thought was a nice touch.

The work was only fair at best. They would not support the warranty (even for the portion of the floor we paid for out of our pocket), installed flooring over a huge hump present in the sub floor, (two wrongs don't make a right) and left debris and unseated nails under the carpet and carpet pad. They really didn't do the best prep. The worst part of everything they did or didn't do was that this company placed a lien on our property after signing an unconditional waiver of lien that they had been paid a certain amount when, in fact they hadn't by their own admissions. Unfortunately, this is misrepresentation and fraud and this company placed a lien in bad faith. We are less than impressed and recommend looking for an honest flooring company that does better work!

Installer arrived in a timely fashion and wes very polite and friendly. Work was completed in 2 days time and the end result was great. No problems, no hassles, a good experience overall.
