Description of Work: Al Rios Construction was recommended by Lumber Liquidators in Lansing as professional flooring installer. The job started timely, however when Mr. Rios arrived he told me I needed to pre-pay Lumber Liquidators for the instalation. I had not been told to do this so I balked at the notion of pre=pay for a job not yet completed. Mr Rios then told us to just pay him directly and not to let Lumber Liquidators know what he suggested. He did not give us a discount! His 2 helpers tracked glue all over thousands of dollars of bamboo flooring. We were given a can of acetone and told that would take off the glue. We are in our 60's and it took us over a week on our hands and knees to remove most of the glue. The flooring was actually nailed down so we have never figured out why all the glue? Then last night I noticed a lump in the floor under my washer and dryer. I had paid Mr. Rios helpers $100.00 extra to move the washer and dryer and floor under them. They moved them back into place before I could check their work. What I found was shocking! The last 2 strips of bamboo were left un-nailed so that the washer had fallen in between the boards. The flooring didn't even meet the wall. He actually put a huge bolt between the last course and the molding as a spacer. Then we discovered that they hadn't reconnected my dryer, it had been venting into the space for over 6 months. So my Husband had to nail the flooring down and fix the dryer vent at 10:00PM on a Sunday night. I called Lumber Liquidators in Lansing to explain what happened. They of course toldme that because I paid Mr. Rios directly I had no installation warranty on my flooring. This was a very costly $10,000.00 total cost lesson. I would never use him again. I have since found out that Lumber Liquidators no longer uses him. Allot of good that does us.
