The measuring and estimating was done very professionally. The door was very high quality. There was a little confusion on their part whether or not the door had to be special or standard and required multiple people visiting, which slowed things down about 2 weeks, but they got it sorted out and was not a problem, just took a little longer. Installation was excellent, professional. We are very happy with the job and the door especially is very nice. We will definitely be contacting them to look at future projects.

It went very well.  Northern is a great choice.

The doors seem to be of good quality, and  both the saleperson and the installer were competent, professional, and easy to work with.
We did have to wait two months for the doors to arrive from the factory, which seems a long time; however, the salesperson was honest about telling us that upfront and maybe that is standard procedure for all companies.
Overall, I think they did a fine job and would use them again and recommend them to others.

There were a couple of things discussed with the contact person that did not get conveyed to the crew.  The crew were superb and did excellent work.

The crew was very professional and friendly.  They did an excellent of building the porch, steps and railings.  The job was finished when I expected and the quality of work was exceptional.  The scope of the job was changed slightly (porch was extended by about 2 feet) but the job was still completed on time.  The crew did a very good clean-up when they were done.  The downspout and gutter shield was also done in an excellent manner.  I will definitely use Northern again.

We are very pleased with the quality of the work, as well as the quality of the products.  The installation didn't happen as soon as we had hoped; the outside temperatures were too cold to guarantee the seals on the new windows and door.  I appreciated the fact that Northern didn't push ahead and install them anyway - it was well worth the wait. 



I will definitely use Northern Home Improvement the next time we need work done on our home - they were fabulous.

The salesman and his trainee who came were very nice and helpful. They made a woman alone feel comfortable working with them. The workmen came on time did their job and cleaned up the mess.
It was a positive experience.

The window unit is attractive.  I picked Northern because of their choice of product.  I'm still waiting for a massive rain storm!  Nothing like torrential water to test a basement window!  They warned me the install date might shift if the weather was bad, and it did shift, and shifted a little more than they first said.  But the weather was torrentially bad the week before so I can't blame them.

I'm going to give them an "A" overall.  If I have problems in the future I will see if I can update this review.  

FYI - the guys who came on site were very nice. 

I need to stay on top of them because they also use sub contractors. It is the nature of subcontractors to do what they always do and it doesn't matter what the homeowner says. I had them do some rain gutter work, and they used a contractor that they said was the best in the area. It didn’t look that way to me. I had them come back, and I had him come back. I’m still not happy. The next time I’ll talk with Northern, I’ll say don’t use this guy and find somebody else. I talked to a guy there named Larry. I told him that I was looking for somebody that could be my outside go to person. I told him I have high standards and I expect response from them. We talked about that and I said that otherwise I would smear them everywhere online. We sort of worked out our relationship, and they are still my go to but I stay on top of them. They put in some windows on the second floor, and they did an extremely good job with that. I had rebuilt one of the rooms on the second floor and put in on my own trimming and all the internal and external framing. You couldn’t even tell all the windows have been touched. They didn’t mess up anything. They were very thorough. The same group of subcontractors came back to put a double entry door into the garage. Usually I hang around when the contractors are working. The guy asked me before they put the door in. I said that it’s not an inward opening door. They began to load all their stuff from their truck and packing it back up and put the frame in. They went back to their office. The office called and reordered. They eventually got it in. They did have a glitch in there. What I like about Larry, who’s my contact guy there, came out and said that they always have to order twice from suppliers. The first is to get it wrong and second is to get it right. It was my mistake because I did not specify the style of the door. It cost them more to come out twice but they did not change the estimate at all. If I go directly to a subcontractor, it’s going to be cheaper automatically because there’s no cut for the middleman. On the other hand, if I go to Northern and something screwed up much more likely they will have it corrected and take care of it than if I’m doing it with the subcontractors. It’s all worth a little bit of extra money because you have more fallback if something goes wrong and some things can always go wrong.

Northern responded quickly (on the weekend) to replace our furnace that went out last winter. They were great. Very professional and friendly. Got the work done quickly and thoroughly. Left the space clean after they were done.

Gave us good advice with suggested replacement windows.
Perfectly matched outside color of windows to siding on house.  I wanted to keep interior custom shades that were in place and that was possible with the replacement windows. They painted interior of windows to match finish in living room.  
Job was done carefully and efficiently; they cleaned up after their work. We are very pleased with the final result.

They are excellent, just top of the line. I would like to give them all "A's" across the board.
