We have taken our dog to Mt. Hope Veterinary Hospital for about 3 years. When we originally adopted our dog from the shelter, we took him over to get him checked out (which they do for free for shelter pets!), and have been there ever since. The staff is great, they take the time to answer all my questions, and they are very patient with the dog, who is usually a nervous wreck when he gets there. They're great people, and they clearly love pets.

My review of Mt Hope Veterinary Hospital is not regarding a single instance/contact . . . . it is regarding over 20 years of looking to them for all of my veterinary needs! Their care and professionalism, in every instance, has been outstanding! Whether a simple vaccination, or, the sad, last visit with an aging/ill pet . . . . there is no one I trust more. The veterinarians and the staff are friendly and professional! They have a busy practice, and yet, when they are with me and the pet I have brought in, I do not feel rushed - - they take all the time needed to explain things to me (including what is going on, as well as what treatment options are available). They are the Best!!

They are very friendly and prompt at the hospital. I arrived early and got in within 5 minutes. The doctor diagnosed the eye infection very quickly. It's a $40 flat rate for the appointment (Do give a free first checkup if you adopted your pet, but this wasn't a regular checkup) and medication was around $20. Very friendly; will be going back for all needs. Thanks!

In the end, everything worked out. (My dog also had some teeth extracted). I have been going to Mt Hope Vet Hospital since 2005 and can't imagine taking my dogs any place else. The doctors and staff are very professional, knowledgeable and caring. I often turn to them to dayboard my 2 dogs when I travel. Mt Hope ROCKS!

My wife and I brought our 10-month-old kitten Milo to Mt. Hope Veterinary Hospital a couple of weeks after he had undergone emergency surgery for an gastrointestinal blockage at MSUs Emergency Veterinary Hospital. He had started to become lethargic, had nearly stopped eating, and was just not acting himself, so we decided to bring to Mt. Hope Vet Hospital to make sure everything was ok. I called to make an appointment at 3:30 pm, and was able to get him in at 6:30pm that same day.
On our initial visit, the veterinarian drew some blood and took an x-ray, and planned to let us know the results the next day. The blood work and x-ray looked good, so they had us bring him back in drew some fluid from his abdomen. They determined that there was probably a very small leak in his intestine from the previous surgery, and proceeded to operate to fix the problem. The operation revealed complications which had resulted from the previous emergency surgery which the veterinarians proceeded to fix. The operation also revealed a very severe infection of our kitten's abdominal cavity resulting from the slow intestinal leak (two of the doctors said it was the worst infection they had ever seen in a small animal). The veterinarians took a very aggressive approach in combating infection, and they monitored his status continuously for six days. We got back our kitten today, and he looked better than he had since before his original emergency surgery.
Throughout the entire process, we received daily phone calls to update us on Milo's status, and we were never refused when we asked to come in to see him. The doctors and staff seemed genuinely invested in the well being of our kitten, and seemed to pull out all of the stops when it came to his care. On top of everything else, the cost was far lower than we had expected. We brought them a kitten that was critically ill, and got back a much improved kitten on the mend. At the risk of gushing, I honestly believe that Milo received the best care possible, and that he wouldn't have made it in the hands of another vet. I would highly recommend Mt. Hope Veterinary Hospital to anyone seeking a new vet.

Dr. Sage cautioned that cats scratch by nature and if we decide to declaw, only do the front claws because that is where most damage is caused by scratching. Our kittens were 3 months old and Dr. Sage performed the procedure. He did an amazing job. There were no stitches after the surgery and they made sure the kittens had the proper pain medication. Our kittens came home the next day and were surprised at how playful and active they were so shortly after the procedures. If anyone is thinking about declawing their kittens, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Sage at Mt. Hope Veterinary Hospital. I found him to be very kind, thoughtful and loving in caring for our kittens.
