Excellent work and professionalism. The lead of the project was very informative and explained anything I had questions for. He made sure they cleaned up as much as possible each evening. The workmanship is beautiful. While I was at work several people stopped at the house to admire the new color. One day someone even asked if they were planning to sell the house! He had to explain to them he wasn't the owner :)
I'm looking forward to the additional insulation this siding provides to my home. No more cold exterior walls and I expect my heating/cooling bills to be reduced.
We replaced our old bathtub with a shower conversion. Erie Construction was great to work with starting with the sales person to help us determine what suited our needs best, to only waiting a few weeks for the items to be made, to the installers. The installers were very knowledgeable, respectful, and left our home in very good condition.
Erie had earlier done a facelift on the outside of our home with siding our garage and window trim and shutters on the house. We were very satisfied with this project and were not hesitant to go ahead and do the shower conversion.
If we need other projects done to our home, we will probably go with Erie and would highly recommend them to anyone.
The foil insulation barely reduced my gas & electric bill by 5%, let alone the 22%-30% (IIRC) that they claimed. The foil layer is so worthless that the utility company won't even count it as an "energy improvement" for their energy rebate program.
The attic fan died after less than 2 years of use! The only good part about the project is the vendor that makes the fan stands behind their product, and they shipped me a new fan, free of charge. I will install it myself next weekend rather than deal with Erie again.
Oh, and one more thing. Once you become their customer, they will constantly harass you with phone calls, trying to sell you more of their products and services. No thanks! (The Do Not Call Registry does not apply to companies that you have done business with previously.)
They contracted an inexperienced builder to redo our kitchen cabinets and counter top.
1) The laminates on the facing of our cabinets were overlapping the drawer and cabinet openings and were never correctly finished.
2) The new drawer runs/guides were mis-aligned.
3) The counter top, splashboard and outer beveled edge was done sloppily - edges didn't match, lumpy surface due to the uneven disbursement of the glue, exposed edges, etc.
4) Called to have them come back out to redo counter top - same builder and still didn't do it correctly.
5) Called a third time and with some inter-office squabbling going on - sent out a different crew. They cut the laminate incorrectly then told us they didn't have the same color in stock but substituted a similar color - a two day job.
6) Called yet a fourth time for some minor blemishes to be repaired. Another individual - a third different builder this time.
We were totally frustrated with all their excuses and poor workmanship we didn't dare call them again even though the work is covered with a lifetime warranty. The main office from Toledo, Ohio called twice in a year's time to check up on our satisfaction, or dissatisfaction, and they still didn't acknowledge our displeasure with their infantile workmanship or did a follow up. They completely ignored us and faded away into the night.
Since then we hired a local company to redo our counter top. We're happy now. All that time and money spent on an out of area contractor is not a good idea.
We still kept all the paper work and receipts for reasons unknown.
