Innitally i would have said fine. As the house was built if failed inspection because the architect (Stephen Auger and Associates) failed to design the house to basic building code. They labeled a basement window as an egress window which did not meet the code requirements. The exact windows specified in the plans were used. Ultimately we incurred a $1,500 change order to fix their error. We presented the bill to them to pay given they hadn't done the work we paid them for and they refused to pay the bill or even a portion of it. The response we received is that the local building department should have caught his error and as a result he wasn't responsible for it. He doesn't stand behind his work. We are not initiating a lawsuit for payment of the change order as a result of their negligence. I would highly recommend using someone else.
