Contractor was unloading dirt to the home next door, I approached him thinking that he had topsoil. Asked how much he would charge to spread soil on my lawn. He said $80. I authorized him to do the work. The dirt was NOT top soil, it was construction clay, filled with rocks, stones, and lumps of clay. I think he had an obligation to tell me it was not top soil. NO ONE WOULD HAVE WANTED THIS DEBRIS WHICH EVEN INCLUDED RUSTY NAILS, PLACED ON THEIR LAWN. I HAD TO HIRE A WORKMAN TO TRY TO REMOVE THE STONES AND ROCKS. A FEW HUNDRED POUNDS WERE REMOVED AND THERE ARE MORE. When I tried to seed the lawn and water, heavy clay stuck to my shoes. This is a terrible mess. I called Scott and asked to have real topsoil delivered. He said he would in a few days two weeks age. No delivery. I called again twice and my calls were not returned.
