Rob Root JR Mason

This fall we noticed musty and mold smells in the laundry room as well as the basement. We found rotted OSB in the exterior wall under the stone veneer on the laundry room exterior wall and all around the exterior foundation under the vinyl siding and under every widow. We hired an Architectural firm to determine what was wrong. They documented that Rob Root Construction & Rob Root JR Mason did not follow the building codes and it has cost us $25,000 to fix the Root building code violations! We had to have our laundry room exterior wall, interior wall and sub-floor and tile replaced. We also had to remove and replace a substantial portion of our home exterior stone veneer on 3 walls, removed all the vinyl siding so the rotted OSB around the entire foundation of our home and under every window could be replaced with treated sheeting and flashed per building codes, we also had to replace the front step so the rotted OSB behind it could be replaced. Rob Root Construction & Rob Root JR Mason building code violations all pertain to improper or no flashing to protect OSB from water and installed OSB where Treated Sheeting should be used. Root was contacted, both of them came to our home, saw the damage and refused to fix it. In summary, the proper use of flashings, OSB and treated sheeting per building codes would have prevented these issues entirely according to the Architect and Building Inspector
