PuroClean Emergency Restoration

Description of Work: Matt Downey was the PuroClean represnetative that came out to my home which I had begun the purchase early March of 2013. The Bank of America was handling the sale for Deutsche Bank and using a Title Company located in Colorado. BOA was using a Title Agency located in Colorado which tried to pass on the transfer taxes to me which is not allowed in the state of Michigan. The seller pays the transfer taxes and other issues that the Colorado title agency tried to pull. I had to hire Michigan Title to represent my interests and the haggling between the two company's delayed the purchase to mid June when the heat wave hit , the mold bloomed. The home did not have that problem when I first viewed it. I was not able to do anything untilI was able to close on the home in mid to late June. Mold developed extensively in the basement and affected the first floor living spaces. I had ServPro come out to give an estimate and all they did was do a visual inspection and gave me a minimum ballpark figure of 20,000.00 which did not include whatever the cost once they started tearing things out. Matt Downey wasthe second person I called to get a price on the mold remediation and he was prompt, took photographs and worked with Mold Quest regarding the lab results. Matt was very conscience of the fact that the home was built in 1926 and he wanted to approach the mold remediation, keeping in mind that we wanted as little damage as possible. So he salvaged as much as he could. He ended up tearing the entire basement which was dry walled and carpeted, and the first floor tore out the hard wood flooring in both the front and dining room as well as the Kitchen and breakfast nook. The walls of the front room and ceiling were also removed as well as up to 2 feet of the walls themselves when they tested positive for mold. PuroClean did an excellent job in getting my home back to normal with as little damage possible. They do what they have to, to get a handle on the situation but they keep the customer informed along the way so ther are no surprises in cost or damage to your home. Matt offered very good suggestions on how to approach the restoration part,once the mold was irradicated.
