Hopefully, what will go well is this web site will stop sending me requests to review a company that I've never done business with.
Description of Work: I don't know this company - although they are located approximately 25 miles from me. This web site has been bugging me to write a review for a year and won't let go. To my knowledge, this company does exist - but that is the extent of my knowledge.

Toby and crew showed up when promised and did a good job. They cleanned up after themselves, they were polite and worked well. We threw a few curve balls at him and his crew and all were handled well there was some shotty work we didn't like, when it was pointed out to him it was quickly fixed to our satisfaction. All of the workers were polite and worked well. It was a job well done for us
Description of Work: Our job intailed a complete roofing and siding replacement, it included the house, garage and shed. There were new lights to hang and also new storm doors.

I live downstate and had to rely on a contractor to plan and execute my garage construction, and I discovered too late that Toby Goodale (T & M Construction) is not competent to either specify materials for a job or to build any construction work. (His first quote for materials was from Menard's and included a line item:" Book: How To Build A Garage"...he needed an instruction manual??!!) I tried to get my money back or to negotiate a settlement with Toby, but his only response to my letters was to provide a fictitous accounting of how he claimed he'd used up all of my $18,700 deposit, and there was no money left, and he didn't feel he was responsible for refunding me anything. It will cost me $2800 to demolish the walls and slab that he built (in the wrong place and to incorrect specifications). This is a complete mess and it is all out of my pocket! There are a bunch of qualified and competent contractors in Kalkaska County who would love to get a job building a garage and will do an honest and workmanlike job - find one of them and RUN LIKE THE WIND AWAY FROM T & M CONSTRUCTION!!!! The contractor who pulled the permits for my job spent 5 weeks ducking a process server before he was finally served so that my lawsuit could begin. They are both loosers!
Description of Work: NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY! I tried to use Toby Goodale (T & M Construction) for construction of a three car attached garage with bonus room, but am now sueing him to try and get my deposit money back. He (his employees) were supposed to create blueprints for my job based on hand-drawn sketches I provided, but he didn't spend the money to have prints made. His employees staked out the concrete work, but the footings and slab were poured in the wrong location so the new garage roof wouldn't be able to attach to the slope of the roof on my house! He ordered the roof trusses incorrectly and they were built without any tails for overhanging soffits (which my sketches specified) - $4600 in trusses: not usable. My written construction details specified 2 x 6 walls, but he ordered and built 2 x 4 walls. I specified 9' or taller walls, he built 8' walls - as a result any overhanging soffit would drop down to a height of 6' off the ground and would have covered the top of the garage doors by a foot!!! The floor drain was not located where I specified, and there was no exit drain tile installed so the garage floor holds water - does not drain. Toby is NOT a licensed contractor like he claims, and is probably not insured either. He had to have the permits for my job pulled by another person who is licensed - someone I'd never heard of before I called the County to complain and tell them I'd fired T&M. Toby claims that my deposit money bought over $6000 in materials that were used in the (completely screwd up) stud walls he built, but there is only about $1400 in materials used in the walls that are errected - he has stolen the remainder of the materials (and/or the money). He also claims he is keeping $1500 from my deposit because he cut and removed 3 trees from my property. I hired another contractor to cut 88 trees and remove stumps, etc, before work on the garage could start (paid $4500 for 88 trees to be cut) - I specifically told Toby not to be on the site until the area for the garage was cleared and all tree removal was completed by the other contractor. T & M Construction was never contracted to cut or remove any trees because someone else did that work, but he's keeping money from my garage deposit for "tree removal" that never happened and that he was never hired to do.

They started one week; the guy he had coming in working on it was coming at about 10am and working until between 12 and 1, then going home for lunch more then 20 miles away and coming back at 2 and 3 and working until about 5 and telling his boss he worked over 30 hrs. in the first 3 days. I had bought a few things for the bathroom including the mirror, the linoleum and other stuff we had like the stain for the trim. So he got guys right in here for the framing of the wall and the drywall, well half of our boys' room was torn out, and when they went to paint their wall, they didn't primer any of the walls and considering it was half paneling they should have primered it. Well, the guy who put the drywall in somehow messed up the electrical and they ended up tying it in to another line under the house, which is not up to code, but it still keeps blowing the GFI plug and we had to argue with them to put a GFI plug in the bathroom in the first place. So then they put up the trim and half of it isn't stained and some of it has blue paint on it in the bathroom, (the boys room is blue) and it don't all match. Then the insurance company paid for new carpet through out the house; well he had another company come in and put in the carpet and linoleum. After they didn't show up for a week, we called Toby and after he made a few calls they got in here and did the linoleum. They were supposed to do the carpet the next day and didn't get in here after about a week of them not coming in; we had to call Toby once again and he called. It was another week before they came in and did the carpet, then they had to finish the trim and they didn't finish the carpet on my girls room it just hung loose over the linoleum when they finally said it was all done the light kept blowing the GFI plug in the bathroom, and they hadn't put the insulation up under the house. Our house hasn't been finished in almost a year; it started in November of 2007, it's now September 2008 and it's still not completely finished. My boys (one has a sleepwalking disorder) slept in the play room for almost 6 months before their room was done enough to be able to sleep in, now the paint is scratching off the wall where ever it's touched, and their closet door was never put back on. They didn't hang up our towel rack and we had to caulk the shower so the kids could use it. We also had to buy the caulk. The mirror was put up using big drywall screws right through the nice wood frame it had, which makes it look like crap! My husband had to take care of their garbage and clean up after them.
Description of Work: We had water damage in the bathroom of our house! The insurance company paid another company to remove all the moldy drywall and cabinets including the wall between my boys bedroom and the bathroom studs an all, after the other company screwed around with the insurance check, we went to Toby. He said immediately that he could get it done quick and cheaper then what the check was for so we would get a kick back, after we got the check issued in his name and got it back from the mortgage company and the mortgage company finally got his papers (W-4 and permits) he came right in the next week and started.
