I was extremely dispoointed in the service. We have used VanBeck In the past, the first time a couple of years ago. Good work and reasonable prices. This past summer they did some additional work which I felt was overpriced for the work done but we had agreed to it. I called yesterday to have them take a look at some possible additional water damage and they came out the same day but this is where the good service ended. Bill took a quick look, said I likely didn’t have water damage in the front room but they could see some spots near the eyebrow window where the caulking was not optimal. He also said there was a spot where they had repaired before that could use a bit of work. I asked how much and he said $350. Another gentleman was already on the roof and caulking even though I had not agreed to the work. When I questioned Bill about this, he said Matt said he couldn’t leave it like that and he had to fix it. I said I thought $350 was a lot and Bill said $350 was the minimum to come out. This was not revealed to me on the phone. I asked how long to fix and he said about 30 minutes. We agreed on$100 finally and I don’t think they were here for even 15 minutes. I’m not sure they even fixed the other spot although I can’t be sure as I didn’t check. I felt like I was being fast talked and taken advantage of and wasn’t pleased with even paying the $100 but since the work had already been started I didn’t want to make a fuss. I have recommended VanBeck in the last but will no longer do so.

Mr. Van Beck, the owner of this company was very helpful to us as we developed plans and as he provided qualified workers. Work was completed on time and on budget for the project. I highly recommend him.

House inspection for buyer recommended a roof inspection. I started calling roofers on Angie's List, but most were booked out even for just an inspection. Richard was very responsive, and came out the next day, since we are expecting a big snow tomorrow. He showed me a couple of minor problems that he recommended I fix, but said the roof would be fine for the 3+ years required by the buyer, and promptly sent the inspection report via email. I will be having Vanbecks fix those minor issues, and am grateful for his prompt response.

Van Beck's went with me to help pick out the replacement skylight and got it ordered. They followed up on the order and had it delivered promptly. The installer was on schedule and left the wires in an easy access for the electrician. The finish work inside was professional. Now a year later the skylight is still leak free.

A few years back, I had this company do a roofing job on a house that I was remodeling. The crew they sent out did a decent job at a reasonable price, so I recommended them to my parents when they needed a new roof on their home. They sent a different crew of roofers to my parents home and the results were much different. The 2 skylights in their living room (which did not leak prior to the installation of the new roof) poured water onto the living room ceiling every time it rained. Their ceiling was heavily damaged. The company sent the crew back out to fix the problem, I fixed their ceiling for them, and the next rainstorm brought about another ceiling destroying deluge. After the second attempt to correct the problem of the leaking skylights they still leaked just as badly, The company said that the skylights must be bad and they would order new ones and replace them at cost. It was about this time that the company stopped returning my parents phone calls and the skylights they were going to order never showed up. My parents went to their office during their normal business hours on one occasion and found the doors locked. When they finally got them to send out a person with the skill to fix the problem, he installed step flashing around the skylights (this had not been by the earlier workers) and they have not leaked since. On top of all this, they refused to pay anything for the repairs to the ceiling that were needed only because of their faulty workmanship. I would never recommend this company to anyone again.

"We did not install the skylights; we did try everything roof related to find the leak, as we stated in our roofing warranty. We then found the problem to be the very old skylight glass seals were dried out and brittle. We removed the units and replaced the old seals with new. With regards to the skylights we did find and correct the problem at no charge. After that experience we did recognize that all older skylights need to be inspected and replaced, or new seals installed as needed, as well as every component roof related. Back then when we installed roofs we only asked if they would like to have new skylights, our policy change due to your feedback. They did an excellent and marvelous job. They are very careful about their work and we were very pleased. I am home during the day and they were very courteous and explained things to me about what they were doing. They were very thorough. They were in line with other estimates that I had got. In fact, I had them do a roof on my sister's house a few months later. They provide high-quality service.

His workers are experienced and completed their tasks in a timely fashion and with high quality. Richard returned my calls promptly when I had questions during the three week project. Overall, the company's performance was excellent. The company representative was prompt and responsive providing good suggestions on what repairs could be made. When making the original estimate, the representative warned about the possibility of damage inside the wall and outline a possible course of action which turned out to be needed. The work was completed within a reasonable time, and the result was as expected.

Richard Van Beck discovered hail damage from six months ago. Other estimator/contractors did not. He climbed the roof with the insurance Co. estimator and we recieved a large payment of the cost from homeowners policy. The workmanship was superb !!, Workers wonderful.
