9/10/2021 Turnkey Builders has been a massive disappointment to my family, causing a great amount of stress on my wife and myself. We paid this company to replace our roof back in June 2020 and a short time later we noticed multiple areas of our home were leaking water (when raining and when ice melted). After experiencing difficulty reaching them they finally came out and used caulk to "fix" these leaks, which clearly did not fix them. We again contacted them many times before another person came out to the house, only to provide an estimate on how much it would cost us to fix these leaks. Please just imagine paying all this money for a new roof and then while under warranty, having turnkey builders attempt to get more money from us. It is absolutely disheartening to say the least. These leaks are a direct cause of poor work that was done on our home by this company. Turnkey Builders has not returned any calls since they realized we would not be paying to correct their mistakes. This company was given a very well deserved F rating by Better Business Bureau. Please think twice when purchasing a new roof with Turnkey Builders as we believe their actions show they have great difficulty with communication, quality work, and follow through.

While replacing skylights on my architect-designed home, Turnkey destroyed a wooden structure designed to let my roof breathe and replaced it with a metal construction that now leaks copiously. At first, when I complained, Turnkey stalled me, telling me I had to prove building code violations to have its work redone. When I asked the local building inspector to check for such violations , he refused, saying he had no record of a permit filed for changes made to my home. Now Turnkey no longer answers my attempts at contact. When I recently had a retired roofer assess Turnkey's work, he told me it was so sloppily done and with such poor materials that I shall need to have it taken apart and redone completely,. I hired Turnkey initially because of its stellar reviews on Angie's list--from which I had always previously had complete satisfaction. Needless to say, this experience has cost me not only my trust in Turnkey but also my trust in Angi.

Turnkey Builders installed a new roof on our house in January 2020. The shingles are curling over the entire roof. Turnkey Builders instructed us to wait for warmer weather to flatten the shingles. In June, after receiving photos of the curling and lifted shingles, Dylan, Turnkey’s owner, did not respond to our request to come inspect the roof and address the problem. We filed a warranty claim with Owens Corning, the shingle manufacturer. Owens Corning’s inspection report concluded Turnkey Builders failed to correctly install the underlayment, causing the shingles to curl and tunnel. Upon receipt of the manufacturer’s report, Turnkey Builders has ignored our repeated attempts for resolution.

Excellent workmanship. Replaced some rafters once the roof was open and extra damage with found. Glad to have hired this company for my roofing and siding claim. We were worried about where to turn after the storm hit so we called around and Turnkey was immediately available and were able to give us a lot of information about the insurance claim process right there on the initial call (the other 2 had answering services that were quite vague) which was very relieving. From the moment their estimator Wes came out we were confident and at ease! Great company!

I hired turnkey to do my roof in which they did a good job but they wanted me to give them a check as soon as the job was finished. Maybe everyone else expects this? I thought they would mail me a bill... Happy with the work but not happy with payment terms. I wasn't originally planning to write a review but they pressed the review process so here it is.

We chose Turnkey out of several companies that bid out the job for our roof replacement and we are incredibly happy we did, even though they were middle high on their price. We just had our house reroofed with all new plywood. They were highly recommended by a neighbor/ friend. I’m the type a personality that is very curious and asks a lot of questions and the supervisor on the site patiently explained every aspect of their process. Dylan was also available by phone every time I called. The team was all very courteous and professional. This company is just really incredible!

They left at 4:02pm on a Friday, I waited a while to see if they were coming back before calling the office 3 times asking for the owner, it took 2 hours to get a call back from the owner and he just excused them leaving early! Guess they couldn’t wait to start their weekend like the rest of us….

Turnkeys quote was nearly half the price of the first inspection estimate we received, they offered to try and match the competitors pricing so we showed them the quote from the first company (maybe naive..) immediately they explained that the price was really high and presented us with a price of nearly half! The skylights were able to be repaired which they worked out with the insurance company as well as some rafters that were moldy. Overall Derek and Dylan were very professional and kept us informed on the progress. In 8 days they did our roof and siding with gutter troughs! Rockin company!

Now that we have worked with turnkey builders, we will never work with another contractor again! We’ve had horrible experiences with other companies before finding them, at first, we were even deterred as they are more expensive than some. Additional repairs were discovered during the project but they were very helpful in answering all of our questions, Derek came out to inspect the work of his team and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy!

I gave them a deposit in Sept 2019 the date to begin was 3rd week in November 2019 then 3rd week in December 2019 then 1st of Jan 2020.. Covid hit and they couldn’t do till governor let them go back to work. They told me they would put me on list.. When governor said all could go back to work they would add me to list. When the government let all go back to work no communication anymore. I hired an attorney to send a demand letter they did not response. They have my money and I have nothing. I am a senior citizen and i believe they just scammed me.

They did well coming in and getting it done. Nine months later I had a leak and they won’t even call me back except for to send me an email and say it couldn’t be their fault I would’ve found it in the first 30 days.

"The customer inquired after nearly 1 year of zero leaks or issues the morning after the very intense storm rolled through SW Michigan. During which hundreds of trees were blown over and thousands of roofs were damaged. So yes i do presumptuously state that their leak is most likely caused by that storm the night before rather than a warranty claim. Also if you notice i also state "Either way we are happy to assist. Please give me a call on my cell at your convenience 2695470043.". Immediately after our response that you can read below they posted this review. When i called them to offer a further resolution the became very hostile and hung up on me. I have since called and left voicemails stating that we still would like to make sure it was not an installation error because regardless of emotions they are in fact entitled to a warranty claim if in fact that is the cause of the leak, they refuse to return our calls. What more could we have done? We are always eager to accept negative criticism and we see that as an opportunity to grow, so if you are reading this and have an opinion please do share! This is a copy of the initial response to this customers overly rude initial inquiry: "Hey [Member Name Removed], With all due respect roof installation errors are almost always apparent within the first 60 days, and certain within the first 90 days. If you developed this leak on a typical rainy day we would not suspect anything short of an installation error; as the proof is in the pudding as they say. However, that storm you are referring to produced tornado grade winds and left a devastated path in its wake. Therefore it is most likely to be damage rather than an installation error. Estimator Justin was very detailed, polite and genuine. Their price was extremely fair and the details were impressive. The install crew was great. Thanks to Turnkey, my family no longer has to worry about our roof leaking after Tyler Home Improvement provided the worst experience ever. Turnkey was called after we fired Tyler Home Improvement for poor workmanship, lack of professionalism, and overall bad customer service. Turnkey provided great workmanship, superior professionalism, and extraordinary responsive customer service. We would highly recommend Turnkey to anyone in the unfortunate position of looking for someone to turn their bad job into a salvage job with results that will exceed their expectations!

I am new to Battle Creek, MI. I had moved into my home in Nov. '17 and the roof was leaking into the kitchen in Jan. '18. The ice and snow melting allowed he water to get in. I called Turnkey Builders and they sent someone the next day to put a tarp on the roof where the suspected leak was. The roofer stated that there were 4-layers of shingles, which is out of code. A couple of days later, their salesman (Justine), came over and explained how roofing had changed. Now a days they use of water / ice barriers were used in valleys and along the edge and the need for attic ventilation. Within a week and some good weather, the roofers had showed up to begin the rebuilding. Some of the plywood needed to be replaced, moisture barriers were laid down and the new shingles were started. The whole job was completed in two days. The roofers had worked for Turnkey Builders for a number of years. They were very experienced, they worked fast and efficiently. They took the time to cover my bushes and protect the areas around the windows. All of the old shingles and debris was loaded into a dumpster the was dropped off the day before. They cleaned as best as they could, but you will not be able to pick up 100% of the nails or very small pieces of debris. After the roof, I hired Turnkey to do some drywall and painting in the garage. The whole experience was 5-stars. The owner, salesman and roofers were all top notch.
