The work was completed in a professional manner, on time, and with the highest quality imaginable. I started talking with Bob DeHaan about the remodeling of my kitchen at the end of February 2014. Within 2 weeks my garage collapsed. Bob DeHaan came over immediately to look at the damage and tape it off with caution tape. He worked with me and my insurance adjuster to removed the old garage and rebuild a beautiful new garage. It is deluxe and came within the budget of the insurance payout. As his workers were finishing up the garage, Branden and Jordan DeHaan began the demolition of my kitchen. They were extremely methodical in this work, keeping dust and debris out of the rest of the house. After the demolition it was discovered that floor joists needed to be replaced and there were substantial problems with the west side of my roof. Bob brought in roofers to do the work. One Friday I had 9 workmen here at once - roofers, carpenters, electricians, roofers. They were all delightful and gentlemanly. It was fun to have so many people here working. DeHaan Remodeling Specialists uses the nicest tradesmen who do an excellent job cleaning up after themselves. They also use safety equipment. Bob DeHaan designed the kitchen remodel and it is fabulous! My house was built in 1905 with the original kitchen and back porch merged into a very funky big, dysfunctional kitchen area. Bob's design brought style and function to the space. He rearranged the space so that I now have a pantry, up-to-date appliances, Shaker cabinets, and a three seat breakfast bar. He works with an interior designer who helps with color, counters, fixture, and flooring selection. My kitchen is beautiful! I am so happy with the quality of the work and design. If you want something g done right, call DeHaan. I will never use another contractor while I live in Kalamazoo.

No complaints. They did the job we requested well, completely and in a timely manner.

DeHaan Remodeling builders were the best! We've had upgrades to other rooms by others firms, but DeHaan, by far, provided the best quality work. Cost was more than other bids, but quality and responsiveness more than made up for it. The owner, Bob DeHaan, frequently was on site checking with us and his staff about progess and any issues.We are proud of our new kitchen.

DeHaan Remodeling Specialists are very open really good at communication. They are very good at remodeling the older homes. The repairs are of high quality and they remain high quality over time. The work lasts a long time. All the work that is done with contractors or sub-contractors is supervised by him and he really follows through. Probably the best example would be from the first job that they did. They opened up part of a wall and noticed that the chimney fume was off-center and he brought over a carbon monoxide detector that evening, he didn't want me staying there until they got a furnace man in there to check. I got home from class around nine o'clock and he brought over the carbon monoxide detector to make sure it was safe.

I had worked with Bob on a remodel of my living room, stairway, and main floor bathroom three years ealier. I was pleased with how the project turned out and contacted Bob again for my bedroom/bathroom project. I met with Bob at his office and at my home to discuss the project. Bob is a good listener, and having worked with him before he was able to come up with suggestions and drawings fairly quickly. Because I would be out of town for three months, we delayed the start of the project until I was able to be home while the work was done. I purchased the bathroom cabinetry through Bob and was able to design the units to fit my needs. I used an idependent cabinet maker to construct my built in dresser, which Bob's crew installed. Because I did not want a tile floor in the shower, and I wanted to use the old tub space, Bob worked with me to find an attractive shower pan that would fit the existing space and could be used with the tile surround of the rest of the shower. Bob and I spent one morning with the electricians working through the plans for the electrical work which included removing old built in side-lights, installing new can lights, installation of new outlets, installing lighting in the closets, and moving a switch location of an existing fan. Once the project began, it moved along at a fast pace. Bob does an excellent job of scheduling his crew and subs. There was someone there every day working on the project, and crew and subs were scheduled so as not to interfere with each other. When a problem came up, Bob was able to reschedule workers and keep the project moving along. Whenever I asked, Bob was able to provide a clear timetable for when each part of the project would be done - enabling me to be present when needed, but also allowing me to know when I could be gone. We ran into two small glitches during the project. The first was when the shower pan was not available for installation - Bob had been told it was ordered and had arrived, when it actually had not arrived. Bob quickly found an alternative for me and had it shipped immediately, juggling the schedule so that work could continue. The second glitch was discovered when the bathroom sink was to be installed. Unfortunately, the style I selected comes in two sizes and the wrong size was ordered. Although the counter had already been cut and installed (quartz), Bob immediately volunteered to correct the problem by reordering the sink and recutting the countertop and cabinet to fit the larger sink. After looking at the sink in place I decided it would be fine and we went with the smaller sink. I think the two glitches are good examples of how Bob works. When problems occur, he accepts them as his problems, not yours, and moves forward to work with you to correct them. On a final note, I will add that it was a pleasure to work with all the crew and subs that were involved with my project. Everyone was professional, worked efficiently and provided a quality job. Bob was available via e-mail or phone to answer any questions I had, and was on-site several times to review how things were going.

While remodeling our kitchen we decided to hire out the counter top measuring, ordering and installation. Contacted DeHaan Remodeling and was very pleased with the speedy response, professionalism, courtesy, cost, and quality workmenship.
