He showed up on a Friday night with all of his equipment took measurements and explain exactly what he was going do. I hired him to do the job on the spot. It was late so he came back the next morning. Prepped the ground around the stump with plywood and hard rubberized diamond boards, put up a six foot tall curtain to close the area in and commenced to grinding. The job took about two an a half hours. They hauled out the majority of the chips and used some to fill in the area but not many at all compared to what he took out. Cleaned and leveled the area the best he could and informed me I would probably have to get about a yard of top soil to completely get things level (which he did warn me of the prior night), power brushed the yard and drive very nicely and that was it. He's a very straight forward guy tells you the price what he's going to do and does it. I had three bids for the job his price was not far off from the highest bid but was about $115 higher than the lowest. I think he had a little advantage because he came when I was home and really did a good job of explaining what he would do. The other contractor's left a quote at the door and I didn't really try to contact them for specifics. So not their fault. He did a great job and I would hire him again and will refer him to my neighbors as well.

It was a very small job. I have used him for jobs up to twelve, fifteen hundred. They are very dependable. They were actually recommended by a friend or neighbor, I can't remember for sure but somebody in this area recommended them. They are very reasonably priced.

I called R and S on a Wed., they came the next day. It only took about 30 minutes and the stump was completely gone. We cleaned it up after to save on the price, it was easy. The stump was a total of 80 inches. They did a great job.

It went well. He had a problem with his grinder and was a little late but said he would dig it out by hand if he had to. He was very careful not to damage property and water lines. I was very pleased with the job.

I had a stump. I didn't want it. So I called the nice folks at R and S. Getting a hold of them was a bit of and issue as it seems like a nice family business and phone contact was fun. However, once contact was established it was smooth sailing. The folks set us up quickly, came out and made my stump disappear. The stump was in a bad place, right next to the house, sprinkler lines, nice plants, and other assorted crap. All of that was preserved in it's perfect pristine condition. The cost of 75 bucks was cheaper than renting a grinder from home deport. The nice professional man whose name I can't remember was punctual, did good work, and cleaned up his mess. Blah blah blah would hire him again and all the usual jazz.

The previous owners of our house had taken down a maple tree near the house 5 years ago but left the stump, which was about 4 feet in diameter. We wanted to re-landscape that portion of the yard, including installing a dry creek bed. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time digging up smaller roots, but the stump was over 6 feet in diameter below grade. My wife called several companies to take a look at it. Rand S answered her call promptly and was coincidentally doing work nearby. He offered to come later the same day to grind it down. He did an extremely thorough and relatively clean job. He assured us if we found he had missed any large roots, he would come back and take care of it (we did not encounter anything else). We'd had different company out to grind a stump a year prior.
