Excellent! They told me where to get replacements, and once they were ready, they came over promptly, did all the installation work very well (which wasn't easy--those suckers are heavy!), and the price was right!

Mr. Ellis owns his own business and it is he who provides the service, so he is invested in the quality of it. I have a wood burning fire place that I use a lot in an old house. The cement around the fire bricks had deteriorated and bricks had actually fallen into the firebox. Mr. Ellis was very knowledgeable, worked diligently and his price was incredibly fair. He is very trustworthy. I was extremely pleased with the work he did. His prices are very reasonable and my firebox is fixed and I can trust having fires in it again. I highly recommend his service.

Randy worked in snowstorms and freezing cold and did a marvelous job rebuilding our whole chimney. He kept a neat workspace and left no debris behind. He communicated well and made special effort to mix the colors we wanted. All that, and his price was very reasonable.

It went great. He was very responsive when I initially called him to get a quote done, and he was able to visit within a week to do the quote. After I decided to move forward with the work, he was called me a week later to schedule a date for the work which was about a month out since he was already booked up. However, he managed to come out sooner than expected, and finished the work in just a few hours. It looks great, and he was super nice through the entire process. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing some masonry work done.

My chimney was leaking water all the way into my basement due to old cracked brick and the lack of a cap on top. When Randy did the estimate for me while I was at work I miscommunicated which stack was to be repaired. So when he arrived the morning he was going to preform the work I communicated that is was a different chimney and he made a on the spot adjustment for me.
The price changed but that was completely called for since the plan changed.
He squeezed me in at the end of the working season (middle Dec.) on a day that we had no snow but was misting rain.
Everything looks good and I have no more leaking as of now.

Oh my word!! Mr. Ellis is a knowledgeable and experienced man.
He is very prompt, courteous and reasonably priced.
AND he will explain, in detail, in layman's terms, all about the workings
of your fireplace/chimney.
I am, unequivocally, recommending Ellis Brick and Block to anyone
needing chimney or fireplace service/repair.

My impression of Randy started off on the wrong foot when I left a voicemail asking to schedule the work that he had quoted and didn't hear anything back for weeks. Finally we connected and he told me I needed to physically mail in my quote with my signed acceptance, and once he received it he would put it into his calendar. He doesn't strike me as the most organized, but I've later learned that he was extremely busy and I'm sure the back office stuff falls lower on his priority list at those times.

However, after these initial disappointments I could not be more pleased with Randy and his work. He responded promptly to any questions that I had and his actual work was phenomenal. Despite having an older style brick, he was able to match it nearly exactly. The chimney looks beautiful. I can see why he stays so busy - his work is fantastic and I would definitely recommend his services to anyone. Thanks Randy!

We communicated again with Randy Ellis in May 2015.  He was at the home on June 11 to start the project, a date we agreed upon.  He was finished in 4 days.  He came equipped with all the materials needed.  We paid him upon completion of the project. I can't say enough about the quality of the work and the professional service Randy provided. My husband was very impressed with the high quality craftmanship.  The field stone chimney looks amazing, as does the chimney cap he built.  You could not ask for more in terms of quality of work, service, cleanup.  Randy is a very friendly, professional, approachable person.  We would definitely recommend Ellis Brick and Block for your masonry needs, and we would definitely call on Randy for future needs.

Randy was only one of 3 masonary contractors I contacted willing to replace this knocked over post. He quickly arranged to rent needed equipment to lift this heavy piece and reposition so that the light could be installed. Prompt, effective, and as professional as I needed him to be to get the job done.

Randy was extremely professional and very honest. He worked all day in 95 degree heat with no complaints. My brick porch had several cracks in it. He removed several bricks and then had to remove the existing grout and replace. Porch looks brand new and you can't even tell that bricks were removed and replaced. I also had a concrete step that had settled and was crooked and Randy got a quote from a concrete company. He thought the quote was too high so he did the work himself. He cleaned everything up nicely including my flower pots that had been covered in dust. He came back the next day to check on everything. I will definitely use him again!!

Randy Ellis was very responsive to initial request for estimate and was always available by phone for any additional questions. Work was delayed because of weather -- not because of owner. He is personable, friendly and neat. He went above and beyond installing and quot;rebarand quot; where it should have been before but wasn't and extending the chimney crown to allow for drainage. Final payment matched estimate. We were very happy with the final product and would absolutely call him again.

Looks great. We can't identify the bricks he replaced they match so well! Very friendly, professional, cleaned up well.
He was the more expensive of the 2 estimates we got, but we went with him because of his professionalism and believe it paid off.

When water came down a light fixture during a good rain, we traced the leak to the chimney. Ellis was contacted off of Angies list and responded promptly and professionally. I was pleased to note the detail of insurance and licensing on Angies list. Years of experience was evident in the assessment of the problem. The work was done as discussed, and clean-up was almost perfect. I nearly jumped out of my seat when a chunk of concrete landed on the deck a few days later. No harm done, that I could detect.
I would recommend this business for their prompt and professional work.

Project started as a 'basic' house lift, but original construction technique prevented easy or basic wall extension. Panic (on my part) set in after seeing the damage to the foundation and not knowing how it could possibly be fixed. Two companies recommended Mr. Ellis, and I'm very glad they did. His knowledge and skills as well as his calm, one step at a time demeanor helped my panic subside. He answered many questions, helped me improve some processes, and rebuilt our broken masonry in short order. I look forward to working with him again.
