Interior Painting
We hired Perfect Painting to paint the interior of our home. His bid was included with the overall bid package from our builder. We started building in November and were expecting to be completely finished in the beginning of June. Perfect Painting began in February. I painted the walls in all of the bedrooms, baths, closets, and laundry room myself (even though they were part of the bid). I also did the ceilings in the laundry room, bathrooms, and closets. The quality of work by Perfect Painting is poor. The ceilings that he actually painted are streaky. There is overspray from the trim on all of my hardwood floors. He over sprayed the doors on several of the walls that I painted and did not remedy it until told to do so. Also, when he stained our stairway, he got stain all over the wall, which had already been painted (by me) and painted over it with the wrong paint. Another "oops" he did not remedy until told to do so. Much of our trim has nail holes still showing and other parts of the trim has nail holes covered but not painted over. None of the bedroom ceilings were painted even though the bid said 2 coats of paint on all ceilings. My husband finally painted 2 bedroom ceilings, but they are not professional looking by any means. The remaining 2 bedrooms are supposed to be completed by Perfect Painting this week (we have been living in our new home for a month) as well as some trim touch ups. I have been given 2 bills for final payment, which I refuse to render until the job is completed to satisfaction. We had another painter look at the ceilings that Perfect Painting claims to have "several coats" on, and there is no doubt that the ceilings could be perfect. Also, Perfect Painting claims that he "underbid" our job. However, I did over 1/3 of the painting and it did not change my final price. Also, all of our trim and doors were pre-primed, so that reduced his work load as well. Perfect Painting is amateur at best. In fact, the walls I painted look better than the walls he painted. He works slowly and carelessly.
