The demo and initial work began as expected but issues began as quality of work was questioned when mistakes were made. From vent/light fan installation to new plumbing install that both caused leaks that damaged paint on the ceiling, things just continued to go down hill. Communication was poor, timeliness in resolving issues was unacceptable, and we are still left with a project that after three months, is incomplete. The final straw was when a new shower pan was installed and the drain was not properly centered/level or glued down correctly which caused the shower floor to warp and not drain properly. This provider had placed blame on the manufacturer but other professional opinions were requested and it turns out the install was inferior and this provider was at fault on the issue. We are now left with starting over on this remodel with a new provider. No accountability has been taken for mistakes, and even the leaks which damaged the ceiling have been left unresolved.
I would tell anyone looking to use this provider in the future, that for repair work or simple replacement of items like water heaters, toilets, sump pumps, etc. then this company is perfectly qualified. However, for remodel work that is to be professionally done in a timely manner, then to look elsewhere for a more capable organization.
"We are very surprised at this rating, as we have tried numerous times to contact the customer and discuss what would "make this right" with no response. The vent fans were covered under warranty, and was not an issue of installation, but rather manufacturers defect, and were credited to him and replaced at no charge. The inferior products that were purchased by him after we strongly recommended getting them through one of our suppliers were difficult to work with and of poor quality. Everything was installed in a professional manner. The "final straw", as he put it, with the shower base is actually a very common problem as you would see on the customer reviews on the home depot website, as there are several complaints about "squeaking" and drain issues. Any product that we install that is supplied by us or our vendors is covered under our labor warranty and is, more times than not, less expensive than the "big box" stores. We have not remained in business for over 85 years by taking advantage of people and providing poor service. To date we have still not been paid in full for the work we completed and have overall found it very difficult to be able to communicate with him and remedy the problems. We have numerous remodel customers that would be very happy to give us an A rating and discuss any projects or concerns regarding our quality of work, and many customers who have had no issues yet he has had issues after issue after issue, a customer who is nearly impossible to please. Overall, we feel that a D rating is not in line with our quality of work, but rather is due to inferior products purchased by him as well as other issues that were out of our control. He has hired us for 2 remodel projects and have forced us to give him large discounts for items that were not our issue. To say that no accountability was taken is incorrect, as the discounts and credits have totaled in the thousands."
