Complete Drywall and Painting

So, our general contractor (NOT Tom Madsen of Complete Drywall) already installed the drywall, taped the seams, and finished the first coat or two of mudding. He was 3 days into it, and it was clear that we needed a specialist to finish the project on time. Tom Madsen came over the same day that we called, and he inspected everything closely.  His vast experience and keen eye for drywalling was evident, in his explanation of what had been done already and what needed to happen, in order to get the best result. He agreed to return the next day to start the job.  He bid it for $1600.00 cash, and he wanted $800 cash the first day. He provided a general paper contract.  He and another drywall specialist Alonso spent the next six days, sanding and mudding. They use special walking stilts and a wooden plank scaffold to do the ceilings.  They meticulously check and repair imperfections, by holding a bright light in one hand and shining it sideways against the surface, while sanding with the other hand.  Because the mud needs time to dry, they generally work 9am to 3pm, depending on where they are at with the project.  Tom Madsen is professional, soft spoken, insightful, and very to-the-point in the way that he communicates all aspects of his trade.  He thinks before he speaks, and when he says something, it is because it has a lot of insight and truth to it.  He takes a lot of pride in his work, and he is somewhat of a perfectionist, which is probably a good thing in this field. He pointed out several things, which saved my general contractor and I time and money. Very professional and hard-working, and, quite-frankly, they are genuinely nice, friendly people--which is a factor when you have people working inside your home.
