Response from The Ultimate Tree Svc
"Very unappreciative customer, after work was done he was fine with everything. Instead of calling and asking for things to be fixed that he had issues with, he resorted to violent and obscen language. His close friend saw us do the work that day and told me in private that [Member Name Removed] was being rude, and he wasn't surprised because he has know him for awhile and he's not the best guy in world."

A huge storm took down several trees in my and neighbors yards.  One of neighbors 40 foot trees was caught in my forty foot tall pines, bending over my drive.  Called my "regular" tree service, couldn't get to it for week.  Called Ultimate at noon from ad I got in county flier.  Jennifer answered phone.  By 2 pm crew was at my home to access.  Agreed removal could wait til next day.  9am promptly crew arrived.  Removed the portion of neighbors 40 foot tall cherry caught in my 40 foot pines.  Also, cut up another 40 foot tall tree lying across back yard lawn.  Returned several days later to remove the remaining two trunks of the neighbors 40 foot tall cherry.  Came to door when job finished to be sure satisfied.  Wow.  Jennifer called each day to advise crew on way.  Crew was
courteous & efficient.  These were tall trees and all tree services were busy with storm work.  I was totally satisfied with all work done.

Overall the work was completed and cleaned up, it was quick and the price was great, however, I did not feel that they were very careful about the power/cable lines and were not courteous enough to remove items from the yard or give me advance warning to remove them myself. I was able to schedule an estimate in a fair amount of time and Dave, the owner, came to do the estimate himself. He was very friendly and thorough in his explanations of the work they would do. He provided a written estimate, a copy of their insurance, a list of references, and his cell number in case I had questions. His price was about $300 less than my other estimates. Great! When I called to have the work done he said it would be about a week to a week and a half before they came out and that they would call me beforehand to let me know. They actually came about 3-4 days later, which is great but I did not receive a phone call like I was told. I happened to be home that day so I was surprised when heavy equipment started up outside my window! A branch had fallen along the side of my house in a storm so I went outside to ask them to put that branch in the chipper as well. While outside I watched one of the workers drag a rather large branch along the flagpole mounted outside my house. It's a wooden pole so it was bent over under the weight of the branch but he continued to drag the whole branch across it. Another worker noticed that I had seen this and told me I should take it down (rather than offer to take it down for me). I was worried about some of the other items in my yard: a planter, solar lights, and bird feeder, but since they were already working and branches were falling, I didn't want to risk going in to remove those items. In the end, my bird feeder was broken and the cable line to my house was knocked down. I had to call my cable company to come fix the downed line and luckily, I could purchase insurance for $3 that day - otherwise it was a $50 fee. I understand that maneuvering large branches is difficult and some damage may occur, but there seemed to be little regard for my property (see flagpole incident). What bothers me is that damage to the items I had outside could have been avoided if I had received the advance phone call I was told to expect, if they had knocked on my door before starting to work, or if they had taken the time to move the items themselves. I could have easily moved any of the items myself if I'd had warning. Also, they had to remove part of the wooden fence in the back yard to reach that tree - when they put it up again those portions of the fence were not level with the rest of the fence and it is only half nailed in (there is a 1-2 inch gap between the fence panel and the post it is nailed to). And one final, very minor issue, they filled the hole with wood chips as promised but were very heavy handed with it. I had two very large mounds of wood chips in my yard that I had to shovel out. I didn't need 18-24 inch piles of mulch... Overall a fair experience, but not great.
