If I could give zero stars, I would. Dustin Sharpe came out, sent us a quote which we accepted, gave us a start date, then never showed. No call or text. After repeated attempts to contact him, he would occasionally respond with an excuse and a rescheduled date. But of course he didn’t show. After several no show/no call start dates, we finally called another landscaper who came out within a week. Do not hire.
Description of Work: Boulder wall, seeding, plant trees, drain, etc.

I cannot recommend Sharpe’s Outdoor Services for the following reasons: • Miss Dig never came out to mark my yard before he came out to start my landscaping work. • During the initial landscape work, he cut through the AT&T line feeding my house. I had to wait 2 days for AT&T to get out to fix the line, which was promptly driven over with a bulldozer by the builder since it wasn’t buried yet. • Work was slow to progress. He stated that it would be a 2-3 day job, but took almost 4 weeks to complete. • 1 week after the work was “completed”, I lose power. DTE Energy came out and found 2 spots where the underground power lines were nicked adjacent to a trench that was dug for my downspouts. DTE repaired the line, but I had to repeatedly request Sharpe’s to fix the landscape since they damaged the DTE lines. When they did fix the ground, I had to purchase my own grass seed to plant in the area. • 2 weeks after that incident, I lose power yet again. DTE returns and determines that there is a large section of power line that was “scraped” when the trench was dug. DTE even determined that a drain pipe was placed directly over where the wire was damaged. They have done a temporary fix, but will have to run a completely new power feed to my house in the near future. • Sharpe’s still denies hitting the power lines. • The initial landscaping called for seeding the lawn. I was told that this was the best seed you can get and I would have grass within a week. I had to put down 5 additional 40 pound bags of grass seed to fill in the bare spots. The spots I seeded (see bullet point 4) came in better than the other areas. • Be careful when you receive and read the quotes. Mine said that I would receive 4 inches of topsoil over the entire area of my yard, but in the quantity it said “30” with no units. I was told that meant it would be 30 yards of topsoil. That barely gave me 1.5 inches of topsoil. He reluctantly brought in another 15 yards, but I am still well short of the 4 inches of topsoil that was in the quote.

Front yard and sides were prepped for hydroseeding and that part went well. However, the seed that was used was obviously inferior and when I called Dustin Sharpe, owner, in October, he said he would come out and look at it. He never did show up. Now this spring the lawn looks absolutely terrible and is nothing but weeds and what looks like crabgrass. After numerous phone calls which were not returned, I did contact him by email and when he called he said he would come out with some seed, weed & feed, and fertilizer or whatever was needed to improve the condition of this unsightly mess. He did not ever show up nor call. I have recently filed a complaint with the BBB in the hope that he would respond to my issues, but so far have heard nothing. I am so disappointed with his lack of integrity and I feel the money I paid him in good faith was a waste. I would not recommend anyone using his services!!!
