DOUGLAS HARDWOOD FLOORS

Douglas Hardwood provided a quote to tie in new hardwood flooring in to our existing and then to sand it all down and refinish it. My wife made contact with them about a month out only to find out they mixed up our install date. Once that was corrected they came out today an hour and a half late to drop of the wood for the project. As they brought the wood in to the house they realized they ordered the wrong wood. My wife then receives a call from the owner stating they could no longer do the floors. Mind you my wife and I scheduled our vacations around this job as we need to be out of the house during the work. I then contacted the owner only to be more confused as to what went wrong. He could not provided any concrete answer as to what went wrong other than they did not know what kind of wood we had. They came out and provided the quote, took pictures, and claim to have been in business over 20 years so I don't buy this argument. The owner offered no real solutions and showed no interest in completing the job. He claimed because his Son provided the quote he did not have idea of what was going on with the job yet he is the owner. Very bad customer service and business.

was referred by our real estate agent who we trusted very much.  they were not the cheapest, but very reasonable even so.  they did an excellent job and I was happy we hired them,  some of the floors were scratched, (by my husband and a different contractor) they came back and did a maintenance refinish for $250  and it is again beautiful and you can't see the scratches..

this contractor used a commercial product (which does have a strong odor) but is fabulous.  I've had floors refinished before and never had anyone use this and it is great.  very sturdy and stands up to our 2 big dogs.  I think we'll be happy with this for a very long time.  they are very neat and tidy and I found them to be very honest and trustworthy.

The service of removing and installing the flooring went satisfactory.  An issue arose when personal items (over $20,000) were found missing from our home.  John Douglas the owner of Douglas Flooring was contacted about this issue, he seemed passive and indifferent about helping resolve the situation or recovering the missing items.  We were then lead to file a police report.  Through this process we discovered that the owner does not do background checks on his employees.  One of his employees has a long and considerable wrap sheet including theft and drug charges, so our advice is be careful who Douglas Flooring brings into your home.  So customer beware... instead of our flooring project costing $9,000 it ended up costing us $29,000 out of our own pockets.

They did an OUTSTANDING job on all aspects of the job. 

They were professional, on time, and their work was amazing.I received 3 bids for this job and they had the best rates.  They cleaned up the house when they were finished and the floors are beautiful.   When I spoke to others that had work performed by Douglas Hardwood Floors everyone was pleased.

I can't say enough positive things about this company.  I would hire them again and would recommend them to anyone.

The living room is 20'x25' and they completed the work in 1 1/2 days. They were careful with their mess and cleaned up after.
