Tree care was recommended by a Grand Rapids company. I talked to the office representative and described what had been recommended by the first company. Tree Care's owner came out, examined the tree. His recommendation was to trim the tree and then wrap the remaining large branches to reduce the chance of the remaining branches from splitting off the tree. He did not recommend taking the tree down. He told me that they never use spikes to climb the tree, so as not to damage it. This is a large tree, about 60 to 80 feet to the top and they used ladders and ropes to do the work. The Owner is listed on their business card as a certified Arborist, which was important to me because I wanted someone who understands trees and not just some one who would just cut it up without understanding the affect on the tree. The estimate for trimming and cleaning up was $300 and that is what they billed. They have to come back and wrap the tree and I will send in another report when they finish that job.
