Comprehensive Home & Building Inspection

Chris did a home inspection for me in April of 2017, no major issues were reported by him during his inspection. After moving into the home there were plumbing issues and a gas leak that may have occurred post inspection. What didn't occur post inspection was the roof being rotted to the point of needing to be replaced down to all rafters needing replacement two months after taking posession of the home. Chris had physically been on the roof and in the attic. He did admit that the roof was in poor condition and was not sure how he missed it, he filed a claim with his liability insurance, payment was fair but did not cover the entire repair. Due to the issues mentioned and my lack of trust in his inspection abilities I had a foundation company come out to assess cracking in the foundation wall, upon inspection by this company it was found that the foundation wall is bowed in by about 4", now that I know what to look for this can visibly be seen on the inside and outside of the home and I've been told by more than one source this should have been caught during inspection. I now have another expensive fix that could have been prevented had there been a quality inspection. Had these issues been found during the inspection I would have made a different choice in purchasing this home.
