Negligently killed all eight fish by failing to out an aerator in the pond when the pump they brought to install did not work and then failed to respond promptly when notified of the issue.

The snow removal got of to a bad start as they had to be called twice to remind them of my contract. During the spring I got a bid for spring landscaping and lawn maintenance, but it took almost a month to get the paperwork done. Then they told me the work on the spring mulching, bed cleaning and landscaping would be done "as soon as they could" not earlier than 3 weeks. The lawn mowing was to begin immediately, but they had to be called to remind them to start the mowing. I got a call back from a guy named Chad. He blamed the fact that they missed the first week on the rain. I tried to ask him what their company expectations were on regularity of the work, since I signed up for weekly cuts. For that question he rudely told me he would not service my home and cut me of as a customer. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. The quote for the landscaping was very high compared to other work I have had done, and it took a month to get everything in place before they would even commit to do the work -- even then with no firm date. They requested $1000.00 down payment, again without any indication of when the work would be done. the contract was vague and did not provide details on what would be done. Another quote was requested for a patio, but that took more than 3 weeks, and then I terminated the my whole business with this company. They are unresponsive, unreliable, expensive and rude.

I've never seen a group of young men so dedicated to their jobs!  They were very professional, worked hard, and did a beautiful job.  I'd recommend them to anyone!

Owner of this company is very smooth on sales and short on service.  My wife and I voiced concerns numerous times before and during construction as to the type of materials to be used and how work would proceed. Our wishes were either not communicated to workers doing the job, or they were ignored.  Staff had lied to me directly about tasked they completed.  We did resolve the issues, with Chad, (as best we could at the time).
The long and short of working with Luke Landscaping:
1) Nail down your exact wishes beforehand, and in writing, if you can.
2) We were very specific with Rick Luke, he assured us, but did not communicate to his staff what we had agreed.
3) Luke Landscaping is more a water feature / large rock engineering company than a landscaper.  The soil used in construction of our patio may have been perfect for soil mechanics of a water feature, however it is terrible for growing/gardening.  We are now trying to replace soil (in non-structural areas) with material that will suited to traditional gardening.  Had we known this before we may have changed the scope of the job.  We had stated to Rick on many occasions our concerns.  He never told us that it would be very difficult to work in the soil he specified.
4) No one as this company seems  to know, or care, about how to properly isolate and seal interfaces between landscaping and home structures.  My concerns were dismissed.  I bought in my own contractor to properly seal an area of raised beds that was build up against our house.
5) If you have issue, discuss them with Chad.  He is the one standout in the company that will not over-promise, but get things fixed.

Replaced some arbor vitae free the next year. House grading had to be redone b/c it was lower than the lawn. Owner cut my buried phone line in front of me and never followed through on repair; phone company repaired it the next year. The line had to be above ground for the same time. Attempts to get the company to pay for repairs were dodged constantly. Unnecessary conflict between him and builder over paving of the frontdoor walk. The firm switched two shrubs in planting them; smaller one for the front yard ended up in the backyard.

They came out to fix a grade problem around the house and build a stone patio. The patio is beautiful. The grade problem took three tries to fix--our house sits at the base of a small hill--Rick and crew were super, super professional and kept at it until they got it right. At first the regrading caused some pooling in the back yard, but as stated, they came out to fix that problem (twice!) at no additional charge. Our basement has been dry ever since.
