We wanted to stay local in finding a contractor for our home renovation and reached out to IHB in February (2018). They came to our home to do a walkthrough. In fact, they did two. The second was with an electrician. They stated the project could possibly be started in June of 2018. They requested a $500 deposit from us. We paid them half immediately. That, we believed, was the beginning of a working relationship. A month or so pass and IHB emailed us a few pictures of options of what our home could look like once finished. We make our selections, pay the remainder of the deposit, and wait for a cost quote. A couple more months pass (already past the estimated start time of June 2018) and they gave us a generic quote showing our renovation in 3 stages. They stated that now they would have to wait until spring 2019. We asked for a cost breakdown of the 3 stages and prints of the final design. We wait. Again, a couple more months pass, (It is now September) and there was a knock on the door. Mario, an owner, offered an apology for "dropping the ball on our project." He stated they still wanted to do our project and I stated we still wanted the work done. He said he would be back with the prints and financial breakdown but that it may take, "a couple of weeks." That was approximately 3 months ago. Zero communication since then. Having been extremely frustrated with the lack of communication and follow through with IHB, we are over them. We had another builder come and check out the house and give us a quote. Honestly, I'm just worried about getting burned again. Fast forward, we just put an offer on a new house. One that just needs paint that we can diy. I was perfectly fine with giving IHB $500 with the understanding it would end with a beautiful new kitchen, bath, etc. However, here we are, the better part of a year later and have absolutely nothing to show for our money, time and frustration.
