We are very comfortable when working with Joel and the staff at Hardy Insurance. Joel suggested we increase our house premium several years ago when he found out my husband began to farm. We also installed a 20x40 ft. in-ground pool. He wanted to make sure we were protected in case we hired someone for the farm work or if there was an accident in the pool. When we remodeled our home, he suggested taking pictures of the new work and checked to see if our current coverage would be enough to replace any items that might be damaged because of fire, theft, etc. This past spring, Michigan Insurance said they would no longer insure our house because we had a slide attached to the pool area. Even though we had had the slide for 22 years when the pool was installed, no accidents, and only one claim because an animal had torn the liner, they were going to cancel our house insurance if we didn't remove it. We've lived on our property for 34 years, in a trailer for 6, and in our current house for 28. Joel and his staff went to bat for us. He made several attempts to talk to them but was unsuccessful. Debbie did her research and finally found 1 company who would insure us until they found out we had a modular house. Again, Joel and Debbie went to bat for us. They showed the company pictures of our newly remodeled home, told them how long we had lived there, and told them we weren't going to move the house anywhere because of the remodel. Try as they might, they weren't successful. We removed the slide, new pictures were taken, and then sent to the company. Our insurance went uninterrupted.
It's very easy to talk to Joel and his staff. I can walk into their building or call and they are always willing to stop what they're doing to answer my questions or help with any insurance issues. I trust them and know they are always going to exhaust all their resources when a client needs their help.
