Came out 4 times and never solved it. Another contractor came out once and solved it.

Higher standards visiting our house 5 times for the same problem over a 2 month duration and were unable to figure it out. In fact, they didn't even follow-up to see if their repair worked. So, we called in another company and WITHIN FIVE MINUTES they noticed 3 problems that Higher Standards didn't diagnose in their five separate visits. Although we liked the employees of Higher Standards and they charge a fair price, they were completely ineffective in diagnosing a refrigerator problem. It could be that Sub-Zero is something special and requires a specialist, who knows. The bottom line is that in order to diagnose any system, you should know the system or not bother trying in the first place.

When we first contacted this Company they did respond promptly. They saw that we needed a part that unfortunately took almost 2 weeks to get. None the less, they came out as soon as they received it and replaced the defective fuse. There was no investigation into why the fuse blew.
Then on 9/17/ 2015 they were out again to look into why that new fuse blew already. The technician said that he would just bypass the fuse and that, that would fix the issue.
Again no investigation as to why the fuse blew.
Now I figure that there is a reason to put fuses into appliances for a reason and did question him about it it before leaving.
He assured me that all was well and that there should be no more problems.
Guess what? The bypass failed, arced and burned a hole thru the inside wall of the door of the dishwasher.
It is blatantly apparent as to what happened. You can see the burned hole and when it happened you could smell the ozone from the burn.
When we called to report this and advise them that we would need a new dishwasher due to the incompetence of their technician, I was told that they would get back to us. This took place on the 24th of November. No phone call came.
When we called today to see where this matter was headed, Rick pretty much told us too bad and that we would have to buy our own dishwasher.
The tech should have been able to identify the problem and fixed from that standpoint instead of just 1) putting in a new fuse and 2) bypassing the fuse altogether.
Now Rick also mentioned that this issue was over and basically good luck in getting anything.
I assured Rick that no, it was not over and we needed further discussion.
But Rick just wasn't in the mood to talk. He wished me a good day and hung up.
I gotta tell you that was the only part that really bothered me.
The inflection in his voice was extremely bothersome.
As of 12/9/2015, I received a check for $195 and a note to put this amount toward the purchase of a new dishwasher. I feel that he is trying to make good but still falls short of a new dishwasher.

I called Higher Standards a week prior to my repairs, at first I was a bit upset by the length of time to set an appointment.  The day they arrived they were an hour and a half late to their 9 am service call.  The technicians repaired the leak in the freezer in quick order and told me the dishwasher was filling and draining properly now.  Because it was so quick they only charged me the service call price of $89.99.  I was told that if the appliance acted up again in the next 60 days that they would waive the service fee.  Well a day later dishwasher did the exact same thing they came to repair.  I called during the weekend and got their voicemail.  I left a message explaining they were just out here, and to please call me back to schedule a time.  Monday rolls around 6 hours after they opened still no return call, so I call back...again.  When I call they have no recollection of my prior service (2 days before), they spend the next 1/2 hour searching for my paperwork, asking repeatedly who are you, what's your address, who was your service technician?  Finally they tell me they are going to call me back.  My return call was met with the soonest we can be out is a week from today, I told them it was unacceptable that they were just out here and did not do the job correctly.  After I complained about the poor customer service and desire for a sooner appointment, they would not budge. I asked for a refund they refused and then transferred me to a manager.  This is where Higher Standards should agree to give up their name...in the time on the phone the manager told me the following things...poor customer service and their inability to find paperwork while a client is on the phone for a 1/2 hour is the "living in the real world"...that either should accept their poor customer service or I should have let their technicians gouge me for parts at the original time when they couldn't find a problem... that if I initiate a chargeback on my credit card they will sue me for fraud... the phone call was being recorded (despite not mentioning that anytime prior to that on the phone a clear violation of Michigan law).  I refused their week later appointment as this group does not seem capable of performing their job, and even if they could their customer service is by far the worst I've had on Angie's List.

Higher Standards Appliance is fantastic. They were timely. They told me it would take three days to get it back and on the third day it was back, functioning well. If I need a repair the next time I would absolutely go to them. I would give them and lsquo;A's across the board.

I was very pleased! We are relatively new to the area and rely on advice from neighbors for repairman of all kinds. I did not get one report of ANY reliable repairmen for large appliances. I joined Angie's List.

Higher Standard was relatively close to my home. So I chose them. I was told the charge would be $55.00 for an estimate which would be applied to the repair charge.

I was given a 2 hour time from in which the repair person would arrive. He arrived 5 minutes into the time frame. He was polite and professional.

He took the dryer apart found the bearings to be the problem. Had the part on the truck so repaired it. The total cost being $125.

I was very pleased!!! Many years ago it cost me $80 just to have someone walk through my door and another $80+ for them to return 2 weeks later and repair it!

I would defiantely recommend Higher Standards and use them again myself!

It was an ongoing problem that was unsatisfactorily resolved and it went on for about six months. They were sending out the LED panel to supplier of theirs and it took four or five times to send it back to their supplier. It still wasn't resolved, but I had to spend $250.

They were very professional from the first contact with the office all the way through the final installation of a compressor motor on our refrigerator. We had the privilege of meeting two of their service people and both of them were more than accommodating and very professional. They knew that we would be without a refrigerator while waiting for the motor to come in and as soon as it was available, they were out to install it. The woman who schedules their appointments was exceptionally nice and very professional.
