The Sound Room in Traverse City recently closed.  The technicians went to work for AHT out of Harbor Springs.  AHT is now the only provider of Control4 systems in Northern MI to my knowledge (the system I had installed 6 years ago).  After 6 years of having he Control4 system I have had many issues and a lot of maintenance calls.  The older version I have installed is also not compatible with HDMI and other newer formats.  The Sound Room was great at servicing this system and reasonable with their costs.  AHT has provided a quote to replace many of the components currently in our system.  The quote included significantly more equipment than is currently installed and ridiculously high in cost.  AHT quoted to install 6 "home controllers" to replace the 2 that I have had for 6 years.  I asked for an apples to apples replacement - 2 instead of 6 and the reply is "this is not what we recommend...take our current quote or leave it".  Seriously...either buy what we tell you to buy or we won't install the replacement.  The company seems to have no concept of "customer" and the emails sent along with the quotes are so offensive that I thought they were a joke...which they were not.  I would absolutely recommend staying away from this company and the Control4 system unless you intend on opening your pocketbook and not having any say in the process or what gets installed in your home.
In addition, I had a service call for 30 minutes...they sent me a bill for 3.5 hours of time.
