Bruce Donovan Construction, Inc. was founded in 1992 by President Bruce P. Donovan. We are based out of Hamburg, Michigan but do business statewide. We are Residential and Commercial General Contractors and Subcontractors. A few of the subcontract operations are, but not limited to, specialty foundations, foundation restoration, sea walls, and solving problem structures.

I hired a structural engineer to access my homes foundation problem. He indicated that helical piers might be necessary. This company indicated by phone they were not interested in helping me. They also said they charge for estimates.
Description of Work: Nothing. They were not interested in my foundation problems.

Hello [Member Name Removed], Sorry you did not get the response you were looking for. Not always, but sometimes, based on the specific situation, we find it necessary to charge for estimates. Especially when it involves significant time or travel, engineering, or dispatching of equipment. Often times we charge a fee when someone is not looking for the work to be completed immediately or are merely seeking information for negotiating the purchase or sale price of a building or property. However, if we are hired to do the work, in most circumstances, the fee is applied to the contract price. We are always interested in helping others, but sometimes we have to turn down work based on variables or a combination of variables such as scope of work, distance, access to site, our work load, the customer's schedule and our schedule.
