Greg came out and quoted the job and asked for us to mark all drainage tile and wires with flags so that his crew would not damage anything. After the install I noticed that our yard was very wet after a light rain shower. We were having sod laid the next week so I was concerned. When we dug up the tile line we saw that the Winchel irrigation broke our drain tile in 2 places. I called Greg and told him I was upset. Greg said that he was there when his crew installed the system and that they fixed any of the tile lines that were hit. Since then we have had our sod installed $$$$. After 2 days of medium rain, I noticed 2 holes approx. 12” round and 18” deep. The cause, 2 additional areas where Winchel cut through our tile line. Our new tile lines are clogged with dirt. Our new sod is like mush because the water is not draining. We hired this job out so that we could enjoy our summer. But instead we are pulling up very expensive sod and repairing what Winchel destroyed. WHY DID THEY WANT US TO MARK THE TILE LINES WITH FLAGS IF THEY WERE JUST GOING TO DESTROY THEM ANYWAYS????? Here is the kicker... My husband asked why we weren't informed that our tile lines were hit. The answers was customers don't want to know.

Excellent, as always. Told him the problem (water from one head spraying on brick siding and staining it, so wanted head moved or whatever necessary to still water areas but not spray on brick), and showed him non-working head and other areas not being covered correctly. He quickly came up with solution of cutting back on spray area so as not to hit bricks plus add a small head to water area that would then need watering. He quickly corrected sprinkling problems with other heads, replaced the non-working head, and added the new small sprinkler head so all the areas we wanted watered would be without watering the brick. He worked quickly and efficiently. 
Several years ago we used to have another company do our sprinkler repairs, but they were extremely slow and didn't know a lot about the sprinklers, having to redo what they did sometimes. Plus they "rested" frequently. Their bills were always large due to the excessive time it took them. We have several brands of sprinkler heads and controller, and they weren't acquainted with some of them so had to spend time figuring them out. 
Winchel Irrigation has no problem fixing all the brands of sprinklers we have nor the old controller. I am extremely pleased with their knowledge and speed of completing the tasks, then showing me what they have done (sprinklers running) to verify it's what I wanted.
They are busy, so I sometimes have had to call twice to get a person to talk with. But once I talk to someone, they get me on their schedule within a couple weeks or less, if possible, perhaps because I'm an established customer.
I can't recommend them more highly.

I contacted the owner Greg and he promptly scheduled a time to provide a free estimate for a new irrigation system. Greg was timely, professional and very knowledgeable of the new products and technologies offered for automatic irrigation systems.  I was provided a detailed contract including equipment list, 1 year warranty on labor and workmanship and a 5 year warranty on parts. The installation costs seemed reasonable, but more importantly the quality of their work is excellent!  I got a kick out of another review that commented on the motley crew that does the installs. It was a motley crew....and they did work!! I would recommend Winchel any day.

Awesome job.My lawn has never looked better.Finished the entire yard in one day.They were very efficient in their installing the lines and their cleanup work was superb.We had three quotes and they gave me,I feel,the most efficient system for the money.

The sprinkler system had not been working since I purchased my home two years ago.  After calling three different places and explaining the problem, I chose Winchel's because I found them to be most responsive and direct in my communication with them. Brad was my contact person whose attitude and communication skills were among the best.  Unfortunately, after four visits, repairing a part, and attending to another issue with the system, he said that the entire system needed to be replaced.  I believe that he honestly tried to get the current system up and running and, although I feel distraught about the money spent, I don't feel it was way out of line.  If I ever win the lottery, I would definitely contact Winchel's to put in a new system:)

Winchel got started on our project sooner then expected. Sprinkler system was installed and they came back out to check a sprinkler that I thought might be leaking but it turned out not to be the case. Everything works as expected and no concerns so far. Easy to email the company with questions and receive prompt replies. Definitely would use them again. The only issue that I have and it is a small one is that I understood they would return once system is up and running to review operating it but it seems pretty hands off so far.

Winchel Irrigation was responsive to my request for an estimate, punctual with all appointments, unlike other companies I have engaged, and left me with a clean and functioning system.  If they needed to return, they let me know.  They called and confirmed cost of parts for some extra services I requested.  Winchel Irrigation provided a very positive experience.

We've been renovating our house for 6 years and are almost at the finish.  This summer was the last big project - a new garage, septic, and driveway.  We decided to have underground sprinklers installed at the same time.
I contacted Winchel's based on the Angie's List reviews.  Greg came out and gave us a quote.  We live on a lake and had hoped to run the sprinklers off the lake water.  However, Greg explained it would be cheaper and less maintenance in the long run to run it off our well.
Greg was fantastic.  We didn't get any more quotes after he came.  He was professional, responded quickly to e-mails and phone calls and kept us up to date on when the crew would be here.  I was even leaving town for a week and he worked it out so they would come before I left.
The only downside, my neighbor described the installation crew as a "rough bunch".  Nice guys, but didn't seem to be wearing any clothing identifying what company they were from.  Didn't knock at the door when the got here or walk us through what they were doing in the yard.   But, ultimately they got the job done.
So, yes, we would use them again.

Got in and got the job done in one day.  Was able to move me up in their schedule.  Very friendly workers that stayed on task all day.  Read detail of worked performed for the rest of the story.  Things went along without any problems at all.  You could tell they had a lot of experience - knowing what to do and in the right sequence.

They were right on time, even a little early, very professional, knew exactly what had to be done, did the work fast and correctly, and showed me all their changes afterwards to make sure they'd done all I'd asked. We were extremely impressed and happy with their work and work ethic. I look back at all the other sprinkler companies we've had over the years and now realize how bad all of them were, how slow and unknowledgable they were, and how expensive they were for what they did. I wish I'd found Winchel Irrigation many, many years ago. We are so very happy we found this company, which by the way, we found on Angie's List.

Great! Came at the appointed time, had all the parts with them, and spent time explaining the work and how to adjust my sprinkler heads myself. Very professional. Would definitely use them again.
